To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Maruu Sasaki Co., Ltd., we opened "Haru Koro Cafe". A cafe with free Wi-Fi that shares information about Shimokawa, sells local specialties, and is a place where residents can meet. We offer lunches using Shimokawa's specialty hand-pulled udon (※), bento sales two days a week (Wednesday and Thursday), house-roasted coffee, and sweets♪ (※Uses 100% Haruyutaka, the legendary wheat)

This cafe is incredible! The owner takes a lot of time and care into the bread and udon she makes! Her tomato bread is delicious! She has one coin udon on her menu for lunch! Be mindful of her operating hours for breakfast and lunch. I cant wait to go back and hear more of her fun stories!

Don’t miss this hidden gem when visiting Shimokawa. The tomato bread is served with butter, honey, and red bean paste. Add a hot drink to your order and enjoy the nice weather on the outdoor terrace. The owner is a friendly women originally from the area. If you have time to spare, she’ll share her stories with you.

I've been several times with a person I met in this town. First, I recommend understanding the following points before entering. ・Staple dishes such as udon take over 30 minutes, so I recommend going when you have time to spare. (Because the owner handles it alone, it takes even longer when there are many customers.) ・Since it's a gathering place for local customers, there is a lot of small talk. ・There are few seats, so around lunchtime it can fill up quickly. (Customers stay a long time, so if you wait for a seat it takes a very long time.) ・Payment is cash only in principle. Those are the points of caution, but I had bread and udon. You wait, but it's worth the wait, very delicious and cheap. (The udon was 700 yen.) Also, you can chat in a friendly way with locals, so it's a very good environment for me. It's one of the few places, which have become rare for me, where I can enjoy coffee and meals while talking leisurely without worrying about time. I'd like to visit again.

Shimokawa Town's specialty hand-pulled udon for one coin… plus it comes with 2 small side dishes, such a bargain! There is also a corner selling Shimokawa Town specialty products.
