ドライブインいとうDrive-in Ito Tokachi Shimizu
This is [Drive-in Ito Tokachi Shimizu Main Store] in Tokachi Shimizu Town. Founded 50 years ago. "Dedicated to delicious butadon." "Dedicated to Hokkaido ingredients." Hokkaido's farm and livestock products are as delicious as any in Japan. By using carefully selected pork and rice, along with our original sauce rooted in eel kabayaki, we create a bowl of butadon that brings out the natural umami of the ingredients. To share with the whole country, from Tokachi Shimizu Town, the tradition of "butadon"—born in Obihiro as a source of stamina in the pioneering era—together with the bountiful ingredients of the northern land, and to contribute to Hokkaido's development. All to bring smiles to the many people connected to Drive-in Ito. At our shop, lunch, bento…

It claims to specialise in pork bowls, but also serves curry and ramen. Located along a national road in a suburban field, I initially thought, ‘Is it really in a place like this?’ I was taken there by a local friend, but it stands out unexpectedly and is probably in a good location. After dinner, there is a mini-store attached to the restaurant where you can buy frozen pork bowls and room temperature commercial sauce if you like. The shop is also active in mail order and is opening a branch in Tokyo. The flavour was strong and reminded me of eel sauce.

View on GoogleFirst visit in a long time. Meat! Meat! I want to eat meat! So I had the niku-mori butadon, piled high with meat. The sauce had soaked into the meat well; thick yet tender and delicious! So delicious I was half crying and finished it in an instant!!! Sooo good!!!!😭 No exaggeration at all—it's seriously delicious. The miso soup with ginger warmed my body, chilled by the wind from riding, right to the core. This was delicious too! This time (again) I was on a budget motorcycle trip, but this was the most lavish and delicious meal of my whole stay in Hokkaido. Looking back, I wrote "delicious" way too much lol, but it really was that good. Revisited 2022/8/1 Had the niku-mori butadon again. Yum yum!!! So delicious!!! I ate it crying lol I should have bought the sauce. Revisited September 2024 I stopped by really looking forward to it, but they said the dining service was suspended😭 Undeterred, I bought Drive-in Ito's original butadon sauce. It came with instructions for making it deliciously, so I made it myself as a camp meal. Delicious!!! But still, next time I want to eat it at the restaurant~.
View on GoogleThe shop sits amid peaceful nature. There were various butadon options on the menu. The pork isn't very thick, but there are lots of slices, and the balance with the delicious sauce and white rice is perfect. They also sell sauce and meat as souvenirs inside the shop.
