太田食堂Ota Restaurant
We offer a rich menu, from Japanese to Chinese dishes using ingredients from Shikabe Town, and you can also enjoy local gourmet dishes using "tarako" (cod roe), a local specialty. The "Shikabe Tarako Ramen" and "Shikabe Tarako Tendon" use not only tarako but also plenty of seafood landed in Shikabe Town, a fishing town. Our seafood-packed ankake yakisoba is also a popular item loved by locals. Please stop by when you come to Shikabe.

Generous servings of food (some of the meals were basically 2 portions - would advise to order and share). Friendly and warm staff who took our order even though they were close to closing time.

View on GoogleHoikoro set 1100 yen, sake one go 400 yen Around 6 PM on a national holiday, customers, mostly locals, kept trickling in without a break. I wonder if it used to be a sushi shop. The sign also said Sushimasa. Smoking is allowed, which is wonderful The hoikoro and rice are one serving, and the ramen is nearly a full serving too, so the volume is great. I thought it was expensive at first, but for this volume and value it's actually a bit cheap The ramen is the standard salt kind. It goes really well with pepper. The straight, high-hydration noodles are good too. The hoikoro has a flavor that goes well with rice and is tasty, and the amount of rice is decent A valuable local diner that I hope lasts a long time. The menu leans a bit Chinese but also has soba and udon. The sake was Ochoshi Chitose Tsuru, probably an easy-drinking commercial sake, and it was good.

The menu was extensive and it was hard to choose. There are also set menus and the portions are generous. I ordered the salt-stir-fried seafood set and it was very delicious. Th
View on GoogleThe seafood ankake yakisoba is packed with seafood. The salty flavor is really delicious❗️ As you keep eating it gets soupier, so it's time for the soup spoon. At lunchtime it's full of locals.
