View on GoogleSince it was my first visit, I ordered the cod roe and corn nayu men (奶油麺) from the "Shikabe Tarako Food Crawl Menu". The name sounds Chinese, but it's basically a white-sauce cream stew with Chinese noodles in it, topped with tarako from Shikabe. Honestly I wondered if it counted as a dish, but the combination is surprisingly good, and if you ask whether it's delicious or bad, it's delicious! Don't mix in all the tarako at once. The jajangmen has a stronger flavor with little spiciness. The noodles are thin and get overpowered. After finishing the noodles, mixing the lunchtime service rice with the remaining sauce is superb. The katsu curry is surprisingly Western-restaurant style and the katsu is fried properly. Smoking is allowed inside, and unlike the shop next door that doesn't even say irasshaimase, they don't glare at first-time customers, and the lady's service is polite, which I liked.
View on GoogleI went into a diner I'd been curious about😎 It's not clean✨ I looked for a menu to decide what to eat, but it was stuck on the wall (lol) They greet you with menu items each shop invented using Shikabe's specialty tarako😬 Here it's Nayumen. It looks like tarako on top of stew (lol) But the taste is, in a good way, more subtle than it looks (⌒‐⌒). Surprisingly good🙋 There was one family with kids, watching Tom & Jerry. The owner said they bought everything at a 100 yen shop so the kids don't get bored while eating (⌒‐⌒). The human warmth was good seasoning too. Apparently they have Anpanman too⁉️ The katsu curry was also surprisingly Western-style and tasty🙋
View on GoogleNot tasty... Ramen and stew don't need to be combined. It's hard to eat, too. Also, the tarako itself may be good, but combined with the stew it tastes fishy the moment it enters your mouth. And salty. If you're going to pair tarako, wouldn't rice have been better than noodles? That might fix the lack of satisfaction of stew rice. And if the broth used more seafood to get rid of the fishiness, it could still be okay. Oh, and it's served on a plate, not in a ramen bowl.
View on GoogleDo try the mysterious "white sauce ankake noodles." Inside the white sauce are broccoli, corn, and the local specialty tarako. A new ramen combining them all.
