Hidden Gem in Shibetsu. Food is amazing! Led by Chef Ben. Pizza is amazing. Beef bento are delicious. A perfect stopover on our way to Asahikawa.

View on GoogleSuffolk jingisukan set meal! A restaurant at a roadside station (with a somewhat food-court-like atmosphere) You can eat rare Suffolk lamb. Besides jingisukan, they also had curry and pasta. The Suffolk jingisukan was incredibly tender, without a strong distinctive flavor, and delicious. Because it has so little of that distinctive flavor, some people might find it lacking. It's delicious, but the price is fairly substantial, so I felt it would be even better with a slightly more lavish presentation.

Shibetsu is known as the “town of sheep” and is also famous for the branded lamb “士別サフォークラム.” This time I stopped by during a business trip to northern Hokkaido. Today I had “武士ジンギスカン”😋 Cooked in the kitchen and served in a piping-hot iron pan. The tender lamb has little gaminess and a light flavor. The fruity soy-sauce-based sauce brings out the flavors of the meat and vegetables, making the rice go down effortlessly. I polished it off in no time. So good~(*´∀`*) Taking your time grilling and eating is nice, but this style is also welcome when you want a quick meal while traveling. Next time I'd like to take my time trying the branded “士別サフォークラム” too. Delicious♪Thank you for the meal🙏 (Visited March 27, 2024)
View on GoogleIt's delicious, and it's nice that they're open in the evening after the roadside station shop closes, but as others have written, it's a little pricey. It may be reasonable considering recent price increases and exchange rates. However, it seems to be even more expensive outside lunchtime in particular. At lunch, the jingisukan is a set meal, but outside lunch the extras cost separately. It comes to nearly 2,000円. I ordered jingisukan thinking they were included, then was asked whether I wanted rice too. I ordered it and only realized at checkout that the small rice + miso soup set was 350円 (there was no explanation that it was a set or what it cost), which made me want to cry.
