I had the Utoro uni set for JPY 4,500 and it was absolutely worth it. The uni was super fresh, creamy, sweet, and rich without any unpleasant fishy taste. The portion was generous, beautifully served in a wooden box, and paired perfectly with the rice, miso soup, pickles, and wasabi. The texture was melt-in-your-mouth, and every bite tasted like the freshness of Hokkaido seafood. A must-try if you are visiting Utoro or Shiretoko and love uni. We visited Utoro Gyokyo Fujinbu Shokudo for the second time during our short stay in Shiretoko. This time, I had the uni and ikura bowl, and it was super fresh, generous, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a simple, local, welcoming feel. The friendly ladies running the place were warm and welcoming, which made the meal even more enjoyable.

must go early if you want the daily special. went around 1pm and had to queue for 30mins, only had the salmon bowl left which was delicious.

It was a cold and rainy day when we visited the restaurant. Since it was late in the afternoon when we arrived at Shiretoko, all other restaurants had been closed for lunch. We finally managed to get a table from this restaurant after a short wait on our car. It was real good to have a hot miso soup and grill Kinki to warm the body and fill the stomach!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I can confidently say it served the best fish I've ever tasted. The quality and flavor of the fish were truly exceptional, leaving a lasting impression on my taste buds. What further enhanced my dining experience was the warm and friendly staff. Their welcoming demeanor and attentiveness made me feel right at home, creating a welcoming atmosphere that added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
