We happened to come across this seafood restaurant on our way back from Cape Kamui. As it was lunchtime, we spontaneously decided to stop — a decision we were very glad we made. The seafood was as fresh as it gets. And the sea urchin was simply outstanding — without a doubt the best I’ve ever tasted. The service was equally enjoyable. Everyone was very friendly, and we felt genuinely welcome. We even had a lovely chat with the owners. A completely unplanned lunch that turned into one of the highlights of the day.
View on GoogleWe had two donburi bowls and they were both super oishi. The sea urchin was 🤤 Kotaro served us up some tuna fished by his father earlier that day too. The rest of the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. There is an outdoor seating area with hamocks, a swing and monkey bars for kids to play with and our daughter loved it. Highly recommend 👌
View on GoogleThis is my second time to visit this place. It’s always good to be back. They have fishing, dog park and accommodation now!!! The owner, Kotaro san, provides top notch service. Also, he also mentioned that it’s their first season for their own produced honey, he then let us had a taste and it’s so good, it’s 100% honey…..highly recommend to visit this place each time you are in the area. It’s also an English speaking friendly place.
View on GoogleStaff were friendly and spoke some English. Very close to Cape Kamui. While there are no private bathrooms, it does have its own small onsen available until 10pm. I ate dinner twice at the onsite restaurant. Menu is limited mostly to sashimi bowls, which were good.Note that the building with the bedrooms is separate from the building with the reception, restaurant, and onsen. It’s actually located across the road. In-room heating worked well. WiFi also worked well.
View on GoogleMy wife and I spent one evening here. The food was all delicious, incredibly fresh seafood. The rooms were nice and clean, with shared washing facilities. It's a very rustic Japanese experience, you would need a Japanese speaker.||||We had traveled up by bus from Otaru, stopping in Yoichi on the way for some shopping. In the morning, the young lady owner very kindly helped us pack up our shopping and arranged for courier collection so that we didn't have to carry it all with us. As we were dependent on public transport, her husband also kindly drove us up to Cape Kamui and showed us where we could take a short scenic hike out to the point of the cape and then meet the bus to go back to Otaru. They went out of their way to help us and made the experience so enjoyable.
