A hearty lunch! Authentic Sichuan Chinese in Makomanai The lunch sets, even with noodle dishes, come with rice + salad + soup + pickles + dessert—very filling! On top of that, for an extra charge you can add mini mapo tofu, mini ebi chili, or mini bang bang chicken The popular and recommended dish is probably the two kinds of mapo tofu The other dishes are also made by a chef from Sapporo Garden Palace's Akasaka Shisen Hanten, so everything is delicious This time I compared the two kinds of mapo tofu, and they're completely different! Even the regular one has a clear hua jiang flavor, and the balance of sweetness and saltiness is really good The special one has hua jiang? sansho? numbing heat and aroma that hit pretty hard Maybe because of that, the flavor felt rich, or rather bold I prefer the special one! The "gomoku ankake yakisoba" is soy sauce-based, with a thick sauce full of umami and a little sweetness The noodles have some crispy okoge-like bits, while the rest are chewy & the vegetables crunchy! Visited during Sunday lunchtime. It was full, and I waited about 10 minutes. Ordered the Sichuan mapo tofu. The food arrived after about 10 minutes. True to the Sichuan name, a mapo tofu with real heat and numbing‼️ It's well-balanced and goes down smoothly. Easy to eat🎵 Eating it while sweating‼️ Supremely delicious🍴😆✨ A mapo tofu that makes you want to eat it again.

I had housework to do in Makomanai Afterward, while looking for lunch, this place came up Saturday 11:20 There were already people in the parking lot next to the shop, apparently waiting for it to open It opened a few minutes early, and the seats filled up in no time Very promising❗️ We sat in the raised tatami area and ordered the Yamachan special mapo tofu set for 1,300 yen from the lunch sets The suanla tang noodles caught my eye too It comes with rice, salad, soup, pickles, and dessert, so it's filling The mapo tofu that came out had chili oil floating on top, properly spicy, with so much huajiao I nearly choked… My spice tolerance has dropped sharply over the past few years, so maybe the regular mapo tofu would've been better… tears That said, it's packed with meat and tofu, so I recommend it for those who handle spice well My companions' sweet and sour pork, chinjao rosu, and gomoku ankake yakisoba were all delicious❗️ The owner apparently honed their skills at various hotels in the city A popular shop where people start waiting outside after 12:00 Thanks for the meal♪

Reviews said the mapo tofu was good, so I went. The Yamachan mapo tofu (with double the spices etc.) and the Sichuan mapo tofu both had solid sansho and heat, which I liked, but maybe because of the amount of oil, the ground meat was a bit gooey, which was a little disappointing. It was Sunday, so they couldn't do large rice, so I ordered an extra large rice separately. It was more than I expected. Maybe about twice what came out at first

2025/9 (Sat) I was 5 minutes late for opening, so I figured there'd be no parking, but someone—maybe a resident? of the apartment next door—pointed to the far end of an empty space and said "On Saturdays you can park here!" Nice guy! I thanked them and hurried into the shop! As expected of a popular shop, it was almost full. Two counter seats were open, so lucky here too! "Somehow, I'm on a roll today!" After that, it was full with people waiting. As expected of a popular shop! Ordered right away! "Revived" Yamachan lunch ¥1,500- The owner's whim lunch "soupless tantan mazemen" ¥1,050- The Yamachan lunch has 8 items including pickles. Chinjao, ebi chili, bang bang chicken, salad, mapo tofu, Chinese soup, almond tofu, pickles. I thought the rice might be a bit small? but once you eat everything, it's just the right amount. Everything was delicious, no misses. I've been to quite a few Chinese restaurants, but I was surprised that not a single one missed! Seriously tasty! The soupless tantan mazemen was also a good amount, with outstanding flavor and a kick of huajiao that spicy food lovers will find irresistible. Pardon me for saying so, but such a shop in such a place. I've discovered a very satisfying shop. The "ankake yakisoba" seems to be popular, so next time I'd like to try the ankake.
