This was one of the best cat rescue cafés I’ve visited. All of the cats are incredibly well cared for, and it’s obvious that the staff genuinely love and care about every single one of them. The facilities are excellent, with several different rooms where you can relax and spend time with the cats, so it never feels crowded. The shop is also full of adorable souvenirs, making it hard to leave without buying something! Although reservations are usually required, we stopped by after lunch without one because we weren’t able to call their phone number. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate us, and we really appreciated their kindness and flexibility. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in the area. I highly recommend this café to anyone who loves cats and wants to support a rescue organization.

We had an absolutely lovely experience at Tsukineko. Jamie directed us in English and provided clear instructions on what and what not to do (thank you so much Jamie!). As stated in other reviews, all the cats are rescue so there is various levels of sociability; some cats want to be friends, others want to be left alone. I was taken with the fact that Tsukineko is a NPO. It’s a little out of the way but there’s a station within walking distance. Really recommend visiting here if you’re in Sapporo.

It’s the best place to play with cats pr just relax with cats. Those cats were saved by many situations and hope can find a happy home. You have to make an appointment by telephone first, and there’s a vending machine outside so you can buy yourself drinks. There are three rooms with cats, enjoy! And if you want to adopt a cat, don’t hesitate asking them :)

The best 45 minutes we spent in Sapporo! The residents were so cute and their human servants were incredibly kind and welcoming! As visiting foreigners we couldn't give any of the cats a forever home, but if you're local, please consider visiting and adopting one of the residents. You can also support in many other ways!
