Trattoria Toscanaccio — Sapporo’s Best Italian, Full Stop If you’re craving authentic European cuisine in Sapporo, look no further. Toscanaccio delivers a dining experience that wouldn’t feel out of place in Florence or Milan. The lunch set (Pranzo) offers incredible value — we went all out with the full course and every single dish impressed. The Saffron Risotto with Wild Boar Ragù was the highlight: deeply savory, perfectly al dente, with saffron that gave the rice a gorgeous golden color. The braised boar on top was melt-in-your-mouth tender. For mains, the Picanha Tagliata of Young Tokachi Beef was cooked to a beautiful medium-rare — proof that Hokkaido beef needs no introduction — served alongside perfectly golden roasted potatoes. The Today’s Fish was equally impressive: pan-seared skin-on white fish over a silky purée with broccolini, simple and elegant. The appetizer — a delicate fish preparation with fennel, kale, and vegetables — set the tone beautifully. Light, fresh, and refined. And the Apple Strudel for dessert? Flaky, warm, dusted with powdered sugar, paired with a scoop of vanilla — a perfect ending. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the menu thoughtfully curated. Toscanaccio understands what Italian food is really about: quality ingredients, honest technique, and soul. Highly recommended.

This restaurant was a wonderful experience. When entering you're led around a small bend which adds to the ambiance of a homely experience. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience this is definitely it. I tried the meat dish which was prepared excellently. The meat had the perfect amount of saltiness and combined nicely with an artichoke salad. The red wines available also paired nicely together with the meat. For dessert I tried the tiramisu which was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend visiting the restaurant both for the cuisine and the hospitality.
