I hadn't been here in over 10 years. Before stopping by ABC MART to buy spring shoes, I saw the Ippin sign and dropped in. I ordered a regular butadon, smaller cut, extra sauce. My wife had a half butadon, regular. The Ippin butadon I had for the first time in a long while felt a little lukewarm, but was very tasty and I polished it off. In Obihiro, the home of butadon, I'm sure there are many great places, but if you're eating it in Sapporo, I think Ippin is a good choice. Thanks for the meal.

A place in Sapporo where you can easily get tasty Tokachi butadon without worrying much about opening hours. I stopped by around 19:00 and it was completely full 😊 Waited a bit and ordered the Buta Zanmai, regular size, small cut, extra sauce. The staff were wonderful, and the bowl arrived right away 😆 Delicious! The meat was tender and the charcoal flavor was good 😉 There seem to be several locations, so next time I come to Hokkaido on my motorbike I'll definitely drop by.

A shop that uses butadon sauce from Sorachi, the maker of jingisukan sauce. Besides the Obihiro main store, there are several locations around Sapporo, so you can get authentic butadon in Sapporo too. I go to various Ippin locations often, but this is my first review. It's delicious every time. The pork is thick but tender and easy to eat. It's grilled just right with nice char marks, fragrant and appetizing. They'll accommodate requests for sauce amount, meat cut and so on when you order. Women might find it easier to eat if they ask for a smaller cut. Even ordering the sauce normally, it pools at the bottom of the bowl, so if you prefer a lighter taste, order less sauce for a lighter meal. If you go for large or extra-large rice, asking for extra sauce might be just right. There are some side dishes, but since it's a butadon specialty shop, better not to expect much. The miso soup is recommended. The ingredients seem to change with the seasons. The tonjiru is also good, but might be a bit heavy with butadon. I like pairing it with miso soup. Weekends and holidays at lunchtime get very crowded. Don't forget to write your name. The waiting area is small, so in bad weather you can write your car's license number and wait in the car.

It's a small shop, but there are kids' chairs and a kids' menu, so it was easy to spend time there with children. I had the butadon; the meat was tender and the fat flavorful, very delicious. The kids' plate had the pork cut into small pieces and looked easy to eat! The staff were wonderful too, treating other customers politely and kindly—a comfortable place!
