OK, so I'm new to Japan, and I have little to compare but I had a great time here. If I'm back in Sapporo I'll eat here again - so much nicer than the chain diners at the railway station. Select your meal at the machine next the entrance (remember to add sides and drinks - buttons on the right), pay and hand the ticket to Chef. On a Thursday evening there's just two staff - so, while I and the steady trickle of solo customers were quickly served, your experience may differ. I'm not quite sure what I ordered is called - noodles, poached egg, pork slices and some veggies - but it was good. According to the instructions you add vinegar, chilli sauce, garlic and sesame to taste and then mix it all up (there are other condiments available but I couldn't identify them with confidence). Noodles particularly tasty. The music reminds me of Delta Blues but performed with Japanese instruments and style - great. I guess I'm 35+ years older than the staff or any of the customers.

It's Abura Soba (dry Ramen essentially), the truly awesome thing is the garlic, chilli oil, vinegar and other condiments that you can add to "power up" your dish.

Randomly stumbled into here after walking around in the cold. I thought I was getting traditional soup ramen but their main dish is Aruba soba and it is so good. There is a guide on the table on how to eat it but you essentially add chili oil and vinegar amongst other toppings to your taste. You order on the vending machine (it’s all Japanese, use G translate) and submit the ticket to the chef. 100% would come back again
