We indulged in the most exquisite sushi (with special hat off for the mackerel, salmon roe (ikura) and tuna (tekka) sushi!) at a very reasonable price. We were warmly greeted by the waiter who spoke good English and handed us over menus in English. Even our little ones enjoyed the experience of freshly made sushi in front of us and enjoyed the feast. Thank you very much for having us tonight.
View on GoogleFriend brought me here and it was a proper Sushi place - fresh fish! The best one was the uni - tasted a bit sweet, real fresh, no fishy after-taste. Ordered one of the sets (set #4) posted on photo and two sake pitchers for the table. Each of us spent around JPY4,500 which was real value for money - given the quality and amount of serving. Sushi master asked where we are from and would have been interested to talk more if they knew English. Thankfully, our friend is a local willing to translate.
View on GoogleThe chef and his wife were friendly, went extra mile to make sure we feel like home. The chef also started a conversation with us. The sushi was fresh and amazing. It’s a hidden gem.
View on GoogleOrdered some sushi to takeaway. Restaurant was quiet at 7pm without any customers in sight. I was worried that the sushi wouldnt be fresh. True enough, the fish slices couldn't compare to the seafood bowl I had at Nijo Market the day before. Not to say they were stale, but certainly not the freshest. The sea urchin was also turning slightly brown. But given the price, can't complain much.
View on GooglePicked this place at random near my hotel. I went in at 5pm, right about as it opened after being closed for the usual odd break Japanese restaurants do. It was just me, the waiter and the chef. The waiter was a young guy from Kyushu, where I live, and spoke good English, so we got along really well. They asked me if I wasn't able to eat anything in particular right off the bat, which is nice to consider, probably because I'm a foreigner. I don't like shrimp, not an allergy thing, so they were happy to replace the shrimp sushi in the set I had (Fuji) with something else! They suggested I try some local specialties, and I had the absolute misfortune to try shirako. I'm sure its probably the height of cuisine to some others, but for me, it was the most vile thing I've ever ate, haha! Don't let that put you off the place though. As long as that young guys there, you'll have a swell time chatting about all sorts, scoffing down sushi, trying many new things you might not be used to.
