Great place for fresh beer and fresh Sashimi. It is a very familiar place, the staff really cares for the customers. Hand-written menu and no English… the most authentic experience :D

View on GoogleA treasure of a shop, really delicious. There's a choice of different kinds of fish and the portions are not small; the dried-overnight hokke (atka mackerel) is bigger than at most places. Trying real Japanese home-style cooking, I ate two sets by myself, while one set is enough to fill an average man. The side dishes that day were pickled radish, pickled salmon roe, and simmered eggplant. The eggplant sauce was richly creamy, and the pickles cut the greasiness, but the main dishes all lean salty, so be aware. The hot tea served after the meal is also special, with a creamy aroma somewhat like Tieguanyin. Nothing to fault in either the food or the price. However, the location is rather awkward for tourists: it's a 15-20 minute walk from the station, and there are no sightseeing or shopping spots nearby. I suggest eating here if you have a car or happen to be passing by.
View on GoogleFirst visit I had the saikyo-zuke (miso-marinated) black cod. The fish of course, plus the rice, miso soup, small side dish, and pickles, all delicious 😋 The surprise was the price A shop with the best value, going beyond "cheap and tasty" I strongly recommend this place. The only pity is that there's no parking nearby
View on GoogleI often come here when I'm in the mood for a Japanese lunch My personal favorite is the "matoudai (John Dory)", which comes as a set with grilled fish, 2 small side dishes, pickles, miso soup, and rice It used to be free, but refills of rice now cost extra (but I always get a refill anyway) The "nitsuke" (simmered fish), with an elegant seasoning you can't imitate at home, is also recommended The shop isn't very large, so it's recommended for small groups
