The thing is, I don't know if I am qualified to rate sushi.. I just enjoy it, we had couple of sushi sashimi, delicious, flush it with beer n close it with pork chop .. all clean

It has high price, but it provides cheap dishes. Also smokers are not separated non-smokers.

Suggested title Solo sushi in Susukino, a dependable 西鶴 dinner 【鮨処 西鶴 五条店／Dinner】 After work in the Susukino area, I visited 鮨処 西鶴 五条店 for a solo dinner. It's easy to reach from around the Susukino and Shiseikan Shogakko-mae tram stops, and is a calm restaurant where you can enjoy sushi and fugu. First, the otoshi appetizer consisted of 3 dishes, from left: octopus, asparagus, and whelk mixed with tobikko. As you can see in the photo, the assortment lets you nibble a little of each and was just right to start drinking. The octopus was tender, and the asparagus topped with bonito flakes had a distinctly Japanese flavor. The whelk and tobikko mixture had a firm crunch and popping texture, quietly encouraging another drink. For nigiri, I ordered flounder 638円, cured mackerel 363円, bluefin tuna 528円, and salmon 363円. Overall, the impression was dependable sushi without gimmicks. The topping prices were approachable for a sushi dinner in Susukino, and I think it's suitable for a light drink with a few bites too. I had about 2 drinks, and the bill for 1 person was 3938円. Rather than being incredibly cheap, it felt like good value for properly enjoying sushi in a calm atmosphere. The interior didn't feel unwelcoming to solo diners, and the counter seemed like a good option too. I recommend this place when you want solo sushi in Susukino or to nibble sushi over a light drink.
