The experience was super good. The food was delicious. The atmosphere is so good. You will feel like you are a guest there, not a customer. The service is super good! I'll visit again 😃
View on GoogleThe host and staff is super friendly and kind. The sushi is some of the best I have ever had. We can watch them make sushi and some ingredients are grown in aquaculture by the chef himself. I highly recommend going to this place for a very Japanese experience.
View on GoogleCharming place, great sushi. The staff were very friendly, and spoke just enough English that we could figure out what we needed to! I would go back.
View on GoogleNon-conveyor-belt sushi restaurants are hard to walk into for the first time. That's why, even though I live right nearby, I couldn't go for 13 years. Just recently, I got to know someone at my workplace who's a regular at "Matsumoto," and they took me there. The four of us had an assorted sashimi platter while drinking, and at the end they made nigiri with the toppings we wanted. Everything was delicious, but the scallop and the cod milt (madachi) were especially good. A leisurely 3 hours of chatting, drinking, and eating happily, for just under 10,000 yen per person. From now on I plan to make my own reservations and visit.
View on GoogleVisited in July 2022. With my family from my parents' home in Sapporo. I live in Tokyo. 4 adults, 1 child, in a tatami room. Two in their 70s, two in their 40s. A 12-year-old. My parents and sister said they wouldn't drink, so the 3 adults had the standard premium (tokujō) set for about 3,000 yen. I think the kid ordered à la carte. Since that felt a bit lacking for me, I ordered a beer and,,, a sashimi platter. They asked, is about 2 servings okay? so I said, sure, that'll do. Then the chef asked me, the regular one? Or the Hokkaido one? and I answered, Hokkaido! What came was the one in the photo. Very lavish and a large amount. This is a lot even for someone who orders a sashimi platter at the start to drink with; it's not an amount you serve when everyone has ordered a set and only I wanted to eat it. Besides, the lady on the floor saw right in front of her that I was the only one who would eat it. And the price for this was 12,000 (I forget whether tax was included). I complained: at a neighborhood sushi shop where the premium set is 3,000 yen, if you sit at the counter wanting a drink and say "Chef, give me a sashimi platter," how can it cost 6,000 yen, you idiot. He said something about snow crab boiled that morning, but in my view, at a shop with a 3,000 yen premium set, even if it's a special Hokkaido version, with such a vague explanation the acceptable price is about 4,000 yen. This is only my guess, but they probably charge locals normal prices and rip off tourists a bit. Other reviews also said something like tourists might want to avoid it,,, so maybe something made them think that. As someone from Sapporo, I felt pretty ashamed thinking that Sapporo people run businesses like this. Also, as you can see from the photo, the nigiri is just ordinary neighborhood sushi shop level. For 3,000 yen I have no particular complaints about the look or taste. But in Hokkaido, this level isn't much different from conveyor-belt sushi, so there's no need to go all the way to 24-jo to eat here.
