SOUP CURRY KING

SOUP CURRY KING

Japanese curry restaurant

Rich, soupy curries with meat & vegetables, served with rice in a relaxed, no-frills venue.

A soup curry specialty shop opened on September 1, 2007. A superb soup curry finished with an original blend of spices, featuring a double soup: a rich soup of chicken bones and pork bones, and a savory soup of Japanese-style "Wafu 1-banchi" dashi!

Wow, this Soup Curry King bowl totally hit the spot! 🌟 Came here craving something warm and hearty, and they delivered big time. The vegetable curry was packed with so many fresh veggies—broccoli, eggplant, carrots, okra, mushrooms, zucchini, bamboo shoots, and more—all perfectly cooked so they still had a nice bite. The soup itself is super flavorful: creamy yet light, with that signature Hokkaido-style spice kick (I went medium and it was just right—not too crazy, but enough to wake up your taste buds). Loved how the broth had this deep umami from what I guess is their special double soup base. Paired it with their signature turmeric rice—bright yellow, fluffy, and fragrant with a touch of herbs on top. It soaked up the curry perfectly without getting mushy. Portions are generous too; I felt happily full without being stuffed. The place has a nice casual vibe, great for a solo meal or catching up with friends. Definitely coming back next time I’m in the mood for something comforting and nutritious. Highly recommend if you love veggie-loaded soup curry! 👑🍛

Really good. Definitely will be craving this when I’m back in the states. I got a 4 in spice level and it was perfect. It was still flavorful while offering lingering heat. For spice level reference, I grew up eating raw Thai chilis. Free parking too.

Order/注文: chicken vegetable curry/チキン野菜カレー Price/値段: 1700 yen/円 The curry was fantastic, it was quite delicious and it had a big portion. For the level of spicy, I would recommend level 2. I had level 5 spicy and I could barely taste the flavour of the curry. This is NOT the usual Japanese restaurant where the spicy food does not taste spicy at all. The staff were kind and welcoming. My friends had a good time here. PS - there is a queue during peak hours, so please be aware of that.

Opening hours are wrong, we arrived at 445pm, and noted that they only resume service at 530pm. We were initially willing to wait in our car to try as there have been many good reviews. While waiting for my family to drive the car over, our 5 month baby was crying while i was carrying him. We wanted to enter the store to allow my wife to carry him, but when we entered their entrance/waiting area, we were approached by one of the staff, asking us to leave. I told him we just needed to quickly change hands carrying baby, but he adamantly refused, kept telling us no and gesturing for us to move outside while our baby was screaming and asked us agin to leave. We just needed a quick 30 seconds in the entrance area which is apparently unacceptable. Also this was in winter, with temperatures near/below 0, which is why we wanted to just use the space to open up our jackets and change hands carrying the baby, where there isn’t wind and is not as cold. Even if the food is good (we wouldn’t know i guess), i dont think your staff should show such a lack of empathy. Also, hope that whoever manages this branch can update their opening hours accordingly to prevent other parties from to make wasted trips.

First time here, recommended by a co-worker. Very different from others in a great way! Soup base was very rich and creamy, vegetables fresh, and turmeric rice to top it off. Atmosphere is super cozy, and the staff are very nice and friendly (proactively gave us an English menu!). All in all amazing experience that I highly suggest you visit if you are around the area and craving for some Hokkaido comfort food.
