We were desperate need of food nearby and so happen to found this humble local restaurant. We ordered various dishes such as udon soup noodles, and my favourite - cold noodles & tempura. Everything we ordered was pretty good and appetising at an affordable price as well😋 Thank you to the staff who attended us 🙏🏼 Although we were unable to speak Japanese, they were very accommodating and patient.

Its a local Japanese restaurant and we glad that we were able to stop by during our last few days here in Sapporo! We sat at the non- smoking area. Very nice Soba noodles! Definitely will come back for more! The waitress was very kind to offer us English menu and very friendly. :) Love it!

『Nishimura』, a long-established town soba shop in front of the old Naebo Station Now that Naebo Station has been rebuilt and moved slightly, it's a short walk from the station A popular shop founded in Taisho 5 Ten-toji soba 1,100 yen Large portion 150 yen *Prices as of 2025 The thin soba slides down easily and is fragrant enough to be tasty Two impressive shrimp tempura sit on top, wrapped in fluffy egg, with the green of mizuna as a vivid garnish The broth has the umami of bushi dashi, is slightly sweet and light, and makes you want to keep drinking it Ten-toji don 1,100 yen Mori soba 600 yen The ten-toji don has 2 medium-sized, crispy shrimp tempura 🍤🍤 Wrapped in plenty of egg, with scattered mitsuba Slightly sweet, but light and gentle in flavor ︎︎︎︎ The portion is modest (*^^*) The cold soba is thin and crisp with a great bite ♡ On weekday lunchtime it's a better deal to get Lunch A with a large soba, but I just can't accept that the tendon is only a mini, so I end up ordering the regular-size single donburi lolol Tanuki-toji soba (large portion) 930 yen The tenkasu is made from the trimmings of the vegetable tempura and kakiage fried in the shop, so each piece has flavor and is delicious ♡ Fluffy, generous egg topping. You can enjoy plain everyday soba cheaply and cozily, but it's quite popular at lunchtime, so if you go alone you often end up sharing a table Watching the waitress (hanaban-san) get flustered when it gets crowded is also a customary and fun part (≧∇≦)

Lunch on the way back from the hospital at a soba shop with a nostalgic atmosphere. There's little parking space and the shop is popular, so even if you get in you may have to wait for a seat. Today I came after 11 and was lucky to get a seat, but by 11:30 it was full and people were waiting. Personally I like that the soba here is served well chilled and perfectly drained. After a long time I had Lunch A with a large soba. It's as delicious as ever, so I'll come again.

This is Soba-dokoro Nishimura, not far from Naebo Station. Actually, this is my first visit. The menu said 「Nami soba」, so I suppose it's soba made with regular flour (second flour, third flour, and end flour). The sweetness is subdued, but you can enjoy a full aroma. The water content is somewhat high. However, it's carefully rinsed in cold water. There's no lack of chewiness. The tsuyu was fairly strong. I couldn't smell the sababushi. It has an elegant umami that doesn't hurt your throat even when slurped 'zuzuu'. And like many soba shops in Higashi-ku, the prices here are cheap too. It's a soba shop that's a good deal for customers. With this quality at this price, I can't nitpick. So I'll skip the fine details, and from here on it's a digression. Now then, this time it's about 「nodogoshi ga ii」 (good throat feel), which is often used to describe the taste of soba. You see it often in Maps reviews too, right. But, nodogoshi? What is nodogoshi. Flatly put, I don't know. No, I don't want to complain. I just want to know what clear state everyone interprets as 「this is nodogoshi」. For example, if it's soba, what kind of soba is 「nodogoshi ga ii」 exactly? 「Thin」「thick」「smooth」「rough」「firm」「soft」 and so on…… From which of these conditions should one judge 「nodogoshi」, I, who have been eating around soba shops for over 30 years but whose head is bone to the core, don't know. If the refreshing feel and smoothness of passing through the throat is called 「nodogoshi」, then almost anything will have good 「nodogoshi」 as long as the person likes it. If it can be swallowed with a 'gukun', is that good enough? Maybe it is. Surely it is. In any case, it's a sensation that's hard to put into words.
