SHO-RIN Susukino Main Store
Savory bowls of soup curry with meat & vegetables dished up in a down-to-earth atmosphere.
[Our commitment to soup curry] Founded in 2004. Soup curry has now become a specialty on par with ramen and Genghis Khan (jingisukan). Our soup is made by simmering chicken bones, beef bones, pork bones, aromatic vegetables, and more for over 8 hours, slowly sautéing onion paste until caramelized, and adding it to the concentrated soup along with original spices, tomato, coconut milk, bouillon, and more, resulting in a rich, mellow soup curry. A distinguishing feature is that the spices are distinct, so you'll work up a healthy sweat as you eat. All the ingredients are cut large, which gives you a slightly 'got a good deal' feeling. Shi…

I went here recently with some friends and I loved it! The soup curry was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken curry and the chicken was really tender, as well as the vegetables. They offer a lot of customisability with the menu, you can change the spice level and the amount of rice you have (I recommend going regular or larger). They offer some local Sapporo beers too. There was a 30-40 minute wait, but when we went inside there was a lot of space for some reason. So do be prepared to come earlier!
View on GoogleVery good overall, food order with QR, English menu available. Taste good. I added a bunch of topping to try everything at once. If you expecting the real spicy, please choose level 8-10 the manggo lassi was a bit let down, taste a bit plain.
View on GoogleIt was my first evening in Hokkaido. The weather was very cold, around -2 degrees, so I decided to have a hot and spicy curry. After searching on Google, I chose this restaurant and waited about 10 minutes for a table. The curry was delicious, slightly salty, but it suited my taste well, and the lamb was tender with no unpleasant smell. I must say, Sapporo beer was exceptionally aromatic. A fantastic experience for me in Hokkaido!
View on GoogleA must-try in Hokkaido: Soup Curry! They offer several spice levels—I went with mild. The broccoli, veggies, and chicken were full of flavor, tender, and so delicious!
View on GoogleI was there at this Sho-rin soup curry @ Susukino on 30 April 2025. I ordered the Soup Chicken Vegetable. I waited for more than an hour even though those customers came before me were served first. Upon approaching the staff for the late serving, my ordered food finally arrived. We have told the staff that the rice was overcooked and burnt but was denied by the staff. I ate my ordered soup curry food but felt very strongly that the food was not at all good and tasty but managed to finish the food for our dinner. However, during the whole night later on at my hotel, I could not sleep at all due to the food stirring up my stomach uncomfortably. I got up twice from my bed and vomited a lot TWICE at 3 am and 5 am. I felt extremely suffering throwing out all the soup curry food. It was indeed an extremely bad experience for me in my opinion. Upon taking medicine, It took me at least three days to recover from this suffering. I would not and will never go to this food store again after my suffering.
