In the crowded market, this young shop stands out for the quality of the meat and the excellent staff, who were attentive and really helpful. They offer lamb sourced from Hokkaido which was excellent. The difference here is you are not getting the micro slices of frozen meat offered elsewhere instead expect tasty cuts of meat. The lamb chops are outstanding, tasty and juicy. The veggies are delicious too, combine this with a nice atmosphere and the much appreciated plastic bags for your clothes, it's a great restaurant. I really recommend you give them a try, you won't regret it.

Visited in July 2026. Sapporo, Hokkaido 🇯🇵 Japan. The interior is modern with wooden elements, soft lighting, and a cozy setting. Unlike old traditional places, here the vibe is more stylish and comfortable. Perfect for a group of friends or a couple. They use high-quality lamb and cook it on a lava stone grill. FOOD: We tried several items and were very satisfied: • Vegetables (onion, potato, lotus root) — grill excellently together with the meat on the lava plate. • Local Hokkaido lamb — pleasant taste without off-flavors. The sirloin was especially good — the fatty pieces remained juicy. • Tongue — tender and tasty, important to grill it well. • Special selected fillet pieces — our favorites! Lean and very tender meat. Everything is cooked at the table on a lava stone plate — the process is interesting and aromatic. SERVICE: Attentive and friendly. The staff help with grilling and recommendations. VERDICT: Sheep Gang is a modern and high-quality option for Jingisukan in Sapporo. The meat is fresh, tasty, and well-balanced. Recommended if you want to try Hokkaido lamb in a pleasant setting.

Funny story, we initially thought it was an all-you-can-eat set, but it turned out to be all-you-can-drink with a fixed amount of meat. We even asked the staff where to order the “free meat” on the web menu, which caused some confusion on both sides. The meat itself was really good. We ended up ordering extra portions since the set wasn’t quite filling for us, so it does add up a bit price-wise. Another hiccup came at the end when we ordered a lamb chop. We were told it would take 10 to 15 minutes, but after about 30 minutes it still hadn’t arrived. We then realised it had been served to the table next to us. The staff apologised and offered us a free plate of meat, which we appreciated. :) That said, the staff were very friendly and the vibes were great overall.

Yesterday evening, around nine o’clock, my wife and I visited this restaurant. When we approached, the place appeared empty, and we initially thought it was already closed. However, it turned out there were simply no other customers. We stayed there for about an hour completely alone, without any other guests. Because of that, it felt a bit awkward being in the restaurant while the staff was watching us. Nevertheless, we really liked the place. The food was excellent - it was the first time in our lives that we tried such delicious sheep. The staff seemed friendly and attentive to us. Even if they thought otherwise, we still give this restaurant a well-deserved 5-star rating. Before leaving, we had a chat with a nice young man from the staff who kindly walked us out to the street. Overall, we really liked the city too - one of the best during our fourth trip to Japan.

Amazing dinner experience with the freshest mutton bbq! I truly appreciate their service and accommodating foreigner tourist. They were super friendly and helpful making it a great/delicious experience!
