Savoy Sapporo Station Kitaguchi
<What is Curry SAVoY> The legendary long-established Sapporo soup curry specialty shop 『Curry SAVoY』, which ran for 23 years from 1994 until the end of September 2017. This famous shop, known to every Sapporo soup curry fan, had to close its long history due to the founding owner's health reasons, etc. Suzuki Akio, representative director of IDATEN Co., Ltd., a fan of 『Curry SAVoY』, wondered whether that taste could somehow be preserved, and devoted himself fully to reviving it. Thanks to connections with the people around him, not only the painstakingly crafted soup flavor, but also 『Curry SAVoY』 filled with the founding owner's feelings…

Found at the basement nearby Sapporo Main Station is this soup curry restaurant - it appears to have won many awards such as the Hyakumeiten for Curry, but it did not win over my heart. It could be that Soup Curry is not something that suits my tastebuds, but having a fusion of Italian herbs with Indian curry spices to me leaves much to be desired. It was full of flavour and yet still tasted watered down because of the soup aspect of it. Atmosphere is great though, and service whilst a bit slow, the ingredients used are of good quality as well.
View on Google1st time for soup curry in hokkaido (they aren't thick like curry rice but stay between paste and soup). < Food > My dish is the ribs one with lv.1 spice and 160g rice - cooking take around 15 mins - there portion are big - my soup has a mild taste with good aroma, my gf order a vegetarian and is taste sweeter - I'm weak to spicy food but can eat lv.1 fine - the vegetables quality is good and cut in big size - ribs are soft and juicy < Service > - the waiter i met can speak a little english and have good manner - staff dress nicely - have "english menu" < Atmosphere > The restaurant is in the underground - warm and cozy vibe - have music (jazz maybe?) - space between table is good Price may be a bit expensive (not everyday meal) but overall recommended if you love spice and looking for a comfortable meal
View on Googleone of the best soup curry restaurants in sapporo even though it looks nothing special. especially I recommend mille feuille curry. it contains one piece of mille feuille made with cabbage and cheese and one thick stripe of bacon. I think they are the distinguished menu from other soup curry restaurants. but sometimes they close earlier than the regular time when prepared curry is all consumed so you need to confirm it or go early
View on GoogleSapporo’s must-tried curry soup. Looks like this but it’s so big i couldn’t even finish half of it. Quite spicy but you can choose how spicy you want so don’t worry if you can’t eat spice. Located in a quite hard to find place but once you get there, it worths everything. The decor is great too so make sure to pay them a visit if you ever come to Sapporo.
View on GoogleSomewhat pricey The walk to their basement restaurant is interesting English menu available Go for the top level of spiciness
