Went for Kayoko-san's birthday. There's parking in the back too, and it's spacious. They have everything: sushi, soba, set meals, and an evening izakaya menu. Soba is probably the main thing, but I wanted sushi and tenzaru, so I ordered—was it the sushi trio? And the nama chirashi set meal! Added beer and sake🍶 as extras. It's sarashina soba and it was super delicious! The tempura was good too. As expected of a soba shop. But! The sushi quality was also really good, and the toppings were super tasty! You can't tell if it's a soba shop or a sushi shop, they have it all. I think it'd be good for entertaining tourists too. There's a decent selection of sake. Definitely coming back!
View on GoogleLately I've been dying to eat geso ten soba, and while looking at reviews here and there—oh! I found a shop with a big menu that has geso ten soba. From the moment I left home my head was full of geso ten soba, I drove 40 km to the shop, ordered geso ten soba the second I sat down, and before the order was even passed on, the server shouted that there's no geso today. Ugh, no geso ten for me today either. I could fry it myself and make soba, but that wouldn't satisfy me. No choice, so I tried the lunch hot tempura soba, 4 shrimp tempura for 1000 yen. Since there's no geso, you know. Oh, here it comes. The shrimp are curled. Lol, usually shrimp at soba shops are perfectly straight, but these are curled like fritters. Actually, when I put it in my mouth, the shrimp had a not-so-fresh flavor. Plus one tempura of some green, probably shungiku. It was already limp when served. Also, plenty of reviews say stuff like "Made me wait XX minutes! Hmph!", but this soba came out in 8 minutes… ah, I see. Since it's for lunch, maybe the tempura is fried in advance? The soba is sarashina-style, as the shop name says; if they'd served nihachi I wouldn't know what to do. The broth—I sensed dashi? way, way off in the distance? A broth without much punch. Given the times, I'll let the lack of geso slide, but for the shrimp, 2 is fine as long as they're fresher. Apparently it's pretty popular with families and such, but the walkway in front of the register was sticky, like a run-down Chinese diner. When I stepped out the front door on the way home, it made sense. The café-like lantern sign said Sake and home cooking "Sarashina Honke". Since the name sounds like a soba shop, it was my fault for mistaking it for a soba shop. Sorry.
View on GoogleLunch zaru with 4 shrimp tempura, good value! (4 smallish shrimp tempura) Classic sarashina soba Shame there's little parking They had a full set-meal menu besides soba, so next time I want to try something other than soba
View on GoogleFirst visit❗ Ordered the large squid🦑 geso tempura zaru soba‼️ Lots of geso, and there was more soba than it looked, really delicious😋 Next time I'll order a set meal❗
View on GoogleUpdate✨ Great value and delicious as always♪ The Chochin set comes with plenty of egg-drop soba, rice, tamagoyaki (the sushi topping kind), kamaboko, simmered hijiki, and simmered aburaage for 800 yen—it fills you right up. The shrimp tempura bowl lunch has a whole 4 shrimp🦐 for 1000 yen, very satisfying.
