Sapporo Science Museum is an excellent place for families, students, and anyone curious about science. The museum offers a wide variety of interactive exhibits covering physics, astronomy, nature, the human body, and environmental science, making learning both fun and engaging. One of the highlights is the Planetarium, which features impressive shows with beautiful star projections and fascinating explanations about the night sky. It's a relaxing and educational experience that shouldn't be missed. The museum also has hands on experiment areas, science demonstration spaces, educational workshops, a kids' discovery zone, and seasonal special exhibitions. Everything is well maintained, clean, and easy to explore, with clear explanations even for younger visitors. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the entire museum is thoughtfully designed to encourage curiosity and learning through interactive experiences. Whether you're traveling with children or simply love science, Sapporo Science Museum is definitely worth a visit. Plan to spend at least half a day here to fully enjoy everything it has to offer.
View on GoogleFor English Speakers If you have kids, this is a great place to go and check out! It's all indoor so if you need a break from the hot sun or warm place from the cold weather this it's worth the check. Unfortunately, not everything is in English so you will have to use Google translate or you can figure some of it out with pictures and knowing basic science. The kids can spend up to 2 hours here depending on the activities and it's also neat for the parents. There is a special section for the summer which was neat so seasonally there may be different events inside. There is also a planetarium but no English subtitles yet so we opted out on that. Highly recommend if you need an activity to with kids in Sapporo.
View on GoogleThis is an extremely fun and educational experience for the whole family. The science center floors are very interactive and the kids learn through hands on experience. Even though most of the exhibits are in Japanese, it isn't hard to get an understand of what each is trying to teach. The planetarium is also a fun experience, though entirely in Japanese so you are unlikely to follow along but the vistas are great.
View on GoogleWe spent four hours here with the kids. It was interactive, not too busy and fun. Even-though we didn’t speak Japanese it was still good with the help of Google Translate.
View on GoogleGood place for children education. Quite far from center of Sapporo. Easy to go with subway but take time about one hour. Quiet museum but interesting. Unfortunately, like many mesuem in Japan, hardly no English. Planetarium was also inferesting and very good contents, but of course all is Japanese, No English in any rounds. Not recommend for tourists who don't know Japanese. Good for little children to experience Science.
