Went for the first time. I ordered miso with extra vegetables, garlic, and back fat For the meat you could choose loin or belly, so I went with loin Since it was my first time, I ordered regular noodles. The noodles are thick, the loin is thick-cut, and the flavor isn't too strong, so I ended up drinking it all to the last drop. I think 900 yen for this is good! I got really full!
View on GoogleA rare ramen that isn't salty. It had plenty of vegetables. The noodles were thick and chewy. But I can't recommend the gyoza. The wrappers were all torn to shreds, and they were served practically as shumai. I can't believe that's something a restaurant would serve.
View on Google[Curry Ramen Exploration Log] My first curry ramen in a while was at Rokugosha in Kitano. In Sapporo it's long been known as a Jiro-style shop, but I recently learned they have curry ramen, so I went. Before it became Rokugosha it was a different ramen shop, whose signature was miso ramen topped with a big pile of stir-fried cabbage, and back when I was in high school hungry folks went there a lot😊 I enjoyed the curry ramen I was after. And my partner, even though I'd told them beforehand it was Jiro-style, showed off their guts by ordering extra vegetables🤣 But they finished it through sheer willpower😁 Anyway, in this day and age, miso ramen with free extra vegetables for 850 yen and curry ramen for 900 yen—I think they're really doing their best❤️
View on GoogleLoads of vegetables (bean sprouts). Thick chashu. Thick noodles are tasty This alone fills you up. First time in a while I almost left food. Plus, you can add extra garlic, vegetables, and back fat for free.
View on Google《Updated 2026/01》 The owner dislikes the common question from first-time customers, "It's my first time, what do you recommend?" When asked, they pretend not to hear and walk away saying, "Please let me know when you've decided on your order." In short, it's a principled stance born from a craftsman's spirit of not wanting to impose the shop's personal feelings on the customer's order. I think it's admirable. Beginners and first-timers should look at the menu, silently let their imagination run, and order. That's this shop's unwritten rule. 《Updated 2025/04》 In an old post, partly because my first impression wasn't good, I wrote that the owner was socially impaired based only on that initial impression, and I'm truly sorry and regret it. I sincerely apologize to the owner and to anyone who felt uncomfortable. I am truly sorry. The owner here is simply a craftsman type who follows the shop's rules, doesn't fawn over customers, and doesn't abandon their commitment to the business—they chat with regulars they know with a smile, gladly accommodate customers' small requests about the menu, never fail to greet you at checkout, and the more you go, the more you like them. Now they're a beloved owner whose business I sincerely wish to thrive. The ramen is as superb as ever. I've stopped getting the thin noodles that get buried under the thick bean sprouts. True to its banner as a thick-noodle specialist, this shop is all about thick noodles after all. Choose belly for the chashu too. It's melty and super thick, the best texture. I'll keep coming. Because I love both the taste and the owner. Old post below↓ Honestly, it's delicious. I don't really know or care about Jiro-style or Iekei, but this one is complete as a ramen in its own right. Naturally, you should choose thin noodles. Thick noodles—that's not ramen, that's just udon. The soup of the miso ramen I ordered was as rich as it gets, with wonderful precision. Are they using sake lees? I sensed a slight sake smell, but the cloudy white soup—mellow like soy milk in the mouth and going down the throat, reminiscent of the soup at "Aji no Marutomo," a famous shop that used to be in Shiroishi Ward—was so delicious I couldn't help but drink it all. Being the greedy person I am, I ordered all three toppings extra, but maybe I didn't need extra boiled bean sprouts, which have almost no seasoning? The back fat and garlic blend well into the thick soup, and adding the nanban on the table finishes off the flavor. The roast pork is flat and large in area, but thin and tough. I prefer something softer that melts the moment you put it in your mouth. This was my second visit; the previous time, not knowing anything about the owner's personality or quirks, the moment I sat alone at a table, the owner abruptly said, "You're alone, right? The counter's open," basically ordering me to sit over there, so I curtly argued back, "There are no other customers, so it's fine if I eat at a table, right? I'll move to the counter if a group comes," and they disappeared into the kitchen silently with a sour, displeased face. Then at checkout, when I said, "Master, it was my first time today but it was tasty," they snapped, "It's COVID times, don't talk!" I guess they thought they were getting back at me for being out-argued earlier lol. "Huh? Who do they think they are?" I was annoyed, but I was full of tasty ramen and in a good mood, so I forgave them with a hot wink. Afterward, I read various reviews and was convinced: "Ah, so the owner is a somewhat pitiful person with a communication disorder who lacks social adaptability." You know, there are people like that who run restaurants without mingling with others. So this second time, knowing who I was dealing with, I didn't show a single opening, and with "Thanks for the meal!" "Thank you very much!" we both had a pleasant time. Ah, the deliciousness I felt the first time was real after all! Taming the owner is a piece of cake, so I'll go again! This place is the best!!
