I wanted miso ramen, so I came to Mokuren for the first time. I arrived around 11:20 on a Sunday, and the parking lot, which fits about 6 cars, was full and the shop was already full of customers. I had to wait, but thanks to the quick turnover and the staff's well-coordinated speed, I was seated right away. Right after entering the shop, they ask how many people, you buy a ticket at the ticket machine and hand the ticket first to the smiling staff. As a first-timer, I chose the miso at 1100 yen, which the ticket machine says is the most popular recommendation. I think it's a kind and helpful service for first-timers that the ticket machine describes the features of each menu item. The bowl arrived about 5 minutes after sitting down. The soup wasn't strong and was just right for me, and stayed piping hot until the end. I also enjoyed changing the flavor by dissolving the ginger. The noodles were my favorite egg curly noodles, which cling well to the soup and are delicious. The chashu is fragrant and meaty, so it might be a bit lacking for those seeking juicy, but I like it. With crunchy bean sprouts and long green onions, it was truly classic miso and delicious. Partway through the flavor became stronger, and I slightly regretted not mixing it a bit as I ate. But it was a satisfying bowl. I'm also curious about the ago dashi chuka soba and the weekday-only miso tsukemen, so I'd like to come again. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleOrder by buying a meal ticket at the ticket machine. Seating is two 4-person table seats and a counter that seems to seat about 6–7 customers. A little after 12:30 on a weekday, there happened to be seats, and I ordered and ate miso ramen and shoyu ramen. The noodles were a little firm but delicious 😋 Next time I'd like to have the ago dashi chuka noodles or shio ramen.
View on GoogleI went for the first time. I arrived around 10:50 and one parking spot was free, so I went in and ate. It was full and I waited a little. I had the chuka soba with chashu. It depends on people's taste, but I liked the flavor. The chashu was delicious and the soup was delicious too, and I finished it all. Next time I'm nearby, I'd like to eat there again if a parking spot is free. By the way, some people were parked on the street.
View on GoogleA place my companion tried many times but couldn't eat at. When I passed by a little before 10, I saw customers lining up before opening and made a U-turn. I decided to have a quite early lunch. I had miso, my companion had shoyu. The miso was a rich soup, and the shoyu is mainly fish, I think. The noodles differ depending on the flavor. That's a first for me. Both were delicious, but the miso has a salty aftertaste.
View on GoogleIt was my first visit in a while, and everyone ordered shoyu ramen. The moment the bowl arrived at the table, I had a bad feeling. The color was different from the usual soup. The moment I took a sip, I was shocked, it tasted like I'd come to a different shop. The shoyu had no richness or sharpness at all, and the soup was cloudy. The chashu has also become thin like dry bacon. This is a ramen shop my late father loved, so I hope they do their best. Let's return to the original spirit!
