The green onion ramen is highly recommended! Note that the spicy ramen is super spicy..for the adventurous diner.

I had ramen at Yamazakura for the first time in about 20 years. I thought there used to be a shop in Kotoni, but when I looked it up, it seems this shop in Hassamu is the only one now. They used to have salt ramen, but it doesn't seem to be on the menu?... I had the most popular soy sauce ramen 🍜. The shop was empty, so it was served quickly and I could eat right away. I had the impression of salt, so soy sauce was my first time, but I enjoyed it. The chashu in particular was melt-in-your-mouth and delicious. Has it been passed on to a second generation now? The first generation used to be in the kitchen in a kind of supporting role.

I had an errand at Chieria, so I came for lunch. It was a blazingly hot day so I ordered the cold tsukemen. I wondered what kind of soup it would be, but it was like a hiyashi chuka soup, with acidity and sesame oil. Green onion and wasabi as condiments are rare. It's like a Chinese-style zaru ramen. The noodles are thin and wavy, and the portion is quite generous. There are plenty of vegetables and it's refreshing, but above all the chashu is surprisingly good. It's so tender you'd think it's kakuni, yet it holds firmly with chopsticks. There's no dryness at all, it's moist and has a really nice flavor. It's so good you want rice. I almost wanted to eat it together with regular ramen. If you like chashu, I recommend it without hesitation. Cash only.
