just had lunch here. Very friendly greeter/waiter/cook. Just me and him having lunch. I had the Ramen with pork gyoza and a nice Sapporo beer. Was very good next time I would try something a bit spicier and they have that on the menu too so I’ll be back tomorrow.
View on GoogleLunch at "Ramen Daiou" in Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo. It seems like there are ramen shops called Daiou all over Japan, but this one should be unrelated to "Aji no Daiou," the famous shop in Muroran and Tomakomai. Probably. It's close to Shin-Sapporo Station—a suburban-style shop with a big parking lot and a spacious interior. Looking at the menu, the green onion ramen might be the recommendation. I went with the shio chashumen. I'd originally planned to eat shio ramen, but somehow I had a feeling the chashu would be good. I also added a small rice. Large chashu slices that completely hide the noodles. It also looks like the Asahikawa ramen type with almost no fat. Flip the chashu and you find plenty of bean sprouts, menma, and wakame. The noodles are Sapporo ramen's yellow curly noodles. The soup is probably old-fashioned Sapporo ramen style too. A soup combining the sweetness of vegetables and the umami of meat. Dipping the moist chashu into the soup and eating it with white rice is delicious.
View on GoogleI had the curry ramen, the green onion miso ramen with extra noodles, and the cha-mayo onigiri. Tomakomai's curry ramen has a thick soup, but the curry ramen here is relatively thin. And it's spicy. My throat took a little hit. It's tasty though. The green onion miso ramen feels a bit spicier compared to other shops' miso ramen. The extra-large noodles are also a satisfying amount. The cha-mayo onigiri is a chashu version of tuna mayo, and it's delicious😋 It seems there's only one cook, so when it's busy it takes longer after you order. Wait with an empty stomach.
View on GoogleArrived on a Sunday around 1210; it was quiet so I got right in. I was shown to the counter and immediately ordered the green onion curry ramen I'd been eyeing. Since it was quiet and the background music was really low, it was so silent the sound of slurping ramen echoed. While I was thinking that, the bowl arrived at 1215. The soup is relatively thin, yet spicy with lots of aromatics and you can feel the heat. The stir-fried green onions and bean sprouts are crisp and pair perfectly with the medium-thick curly noodles. The chashu is on the thin side, but it's well simmered and delicious. Although it's a long-established shop?, it's well cleaned and feels tidy. I'd just like them to put tissues on the counter. Thanks for the meal!
View on GoogleToday I went to Daiou in Atsubetsu Daiou means curry ramen, so I ordered it right away The taste was really good, but it was way too spicy for an old guy who can't handle spicy food I ate it drenched in sweat, but there were no tissues provided, so ☆−1
