I reached out to the restaurant for a reservation and to let them know I had a dietary restriction. They were very kind and accommodating, and the price was extremely reasonable. The omurice they made for me was so delicious! The owners were so kind, the food came out quickly, and combined with the beautiful snowy view from our table, we had a very pleasant dinner experience. Will definitely come back if we visit Sapporo again!

Meal: Lunch Day Visited: Saturday Budget: ¥1,400 Closest Station: Soen Reservation Needed?: No Payment: Cash Kid Friendly?: Maybe English Menu?: No We had a great lunch here today! Lunch options consisted of omelette rice, doria, or steak. Each were served with an appetizer and soup. We both opted for the omelette rice and found both the Demi glacé and tomato sauce options to be delicious. The meal started off right with a very creative appetizer and delicious cream soup; a bargain for ¥1,400. The restaurant is cozy - fourteen seats in total. The service is kind. We will be back to try the doria!

After leaving the bustle around Sapporo Station and walking for about 20 minutes, I arrived at "Palatino," where a calm atmosphere flows. It is a bit of a walk from any nearest station, but its quiet appearance only raised my expectations. That day I ordered the A Lunch (1400 yen). The B Lunch, which comes with a plate of 3 appetizers for an extra 200 yen, was tempting too, but after consulting my stomach, I decided to first savor the star of the show, the "tomato sauce omurice," properly. The plate that arrived: the omelette sitting on top of the ketchup rice trembled delicately the moment it was set on the table, and that "give" alone conveyed how creamy it was inside. With the knife provided, I gently cut a single line across. I was nervous because I'm clumsy, but thanks to the perfect half-cooked consistency, it didn't fall apart, and when I opened it to the left and right, a splendid omurice was completed, like a bright yellow flower in bloom. One bite, and I was amazed by the careful workmanship. Because the ingredients are cut to a uniform size, the savory flavor of the ketchup rice comes through directly, and the tomato sauce, neither too sweet nor too sour, with its refined taste, mingles with it. It was truly a "holy trinity," a flavor calculated down to the last detail. Above all, the friendly personalities of the staff made this time even richer. The waitress's attentive consideration, and the cheerfulness of the chef in the kitchen, who is a little younger than me. When I told them on my way out, "The tomato sauce was really delicious," I can't forget the happy smiles that suddenly lit up on both their faces. It's a wonderful restaurant where, besides the taste of the food, you can feel the warmth of the people who make it coming through the plate. I'd like to visit again, enjoying a somewhat long walk, to see those smiles and that melt-in-your-mouth omurice.
