The wine perfectly matched my mood today: a French Pinot Noir with a bold aroma and a fresh, fruit-forward palate. We started with an exceptional Margherita pizza featuring that distinctly Japanese style of cheese—incredibly rich and milky. Next up was the seafood ajillo. While I’d rate the seafood itself an 8.5/10, the oil was deeply infused with the essence of the sea, pairing so beautifully with the bread that we just kept asking for more. It’s a highlight dish for someone likes bread. (We reorder this dish after 5 piece of bread, 8 bread for 3 person in total…) Then came the menu’s top recommendation: the sea urchin risotto. It easily met those consistently high Japanese standards for a solid 9/10. The absolute highlight of the day, However, the champion was the smoked sea urchin and seabream. The urchin was unbelievably sweet and fresh, and the dish comes with salt on the side so you can adjust the flavor exactly to your liking.

View on GoogleItalian restaurants in Japan are either great or bad. Osteria Bava is fantastic. Drawn in by the sea urchin options and they did not disappoint. Wine was very well priced too and good quality. The amount of salmon roe on the pasta dish was amazing. The staff were attentive and friendly. Note to people who don't share their meals. Dishes are brought out one at a time. Even if you order two mains, one comes out first so you have to share! Luckily that's our style of eating anyway. An open kitchen where your order is made fresh! The risotto and pasta were al dente. Any Italian would be proud of the sea urchin risotto. Way cheaper than we've paid in Italy for the same type of food. Go there and enjoy, we loved Osteria Bava.
View on GoogleThe food was really good. The wine lost is not that big and great and could think of a small upgrade, but damn was the food good.
