[Access] 7 minutes on foot from "Odori Station" on the city subway / 5 minutes on foot from "Bus Center-mae Station" on the city subway. "Ohiso" in Nijo Market, which tourists visit again and again. The menu centers on fresh ingredients purchased that day. In particular, their dedication to "uni" (sea urchin) and the large size and freshness of the toppings on their seafood bowls stand out. Their grilled fish, with more than 20 varieties, is also popular, with fish from Hokkaido and rare fish available. Many tourists come back to the shop several times during a single trip or stay! If you're thinking "I want to eat a seafood bowl in Sapporo!", "I want to enjoy breakfast at Nijo Market!", or "I want to taste fresh sea urchin and ikura on my Hokkaido trip!", be sure to visit Ohiso Main Store. TLDR: grab a ticket before exploring the market, great quality for a high price I got the specialty bowl of sea urchin, fresh crab and salmon roe. I added the chazuke and crab gratin served in a crab shell. The bowl was not too big but very filling, the uni was sweet and fresh without a super strong fishy flavor. The crab pieces were nice big pieces as well. I wasn’t a fan of the chazuke but the crab gratin was excellent! For 6400 yen, it is a bit steep but ok for the freshness. Grab a ticket for the wait and walk around, just be sure to be back on time, they will call you number once and that is it

I stopped by Ohiso’s main store in Nijo Market since seafood in Hokkaido is a must, and ended up going back again a few days later. Going early is important, as arriving after 9:30 AM was a wait of over 30 minutes and seemingly slightly less fresh seafood (especially uni). I tried the uni and kani bowl, whole surf clam sashimi, scallop sashimi, a seafood bowl, and a raw oyster. Again, the uni bowls were noticeably better earlier in the day. The seafood bowl was great value and something I could eat regularly, with very fresh sashimi, a whole Hokkaido scallop that was sweet, and a good variety overall. The surf clam was an unexpected highlight, very crunchy, sweet, and umami. The scallop sashimi was also excellent. The raw oyster, however, was too salty and quite large, which made the saltiness linger, so it was the only item I wouldn’t order again. Overall, 9.5/10.

Went with 1 newborn, 1 toddler and 4 adults - got seated in a 6 seater which was great but was probably lucky (you might have to split up). Food was great, fresh. Relatively affordable. Got in quickly around 2pm so only waited 15 min. Bear in mind grilled foods stop a 3pm especially if you have little ones. Overall was pleasant and i went twice because of that.
