I’ve been to three seafood markets and tried seafood bowls at four different places on this trip. While it might not be a direct comparison since my orders always depend on what I'm craving at the time, this place is easily my favorite. The sushi rice has the perfect amount of vinegar to pair with the seafood. It adds great flavor without overpowering the fresh sweetness of the sashimi, making the entire bowl incredibly well-balanced. Plus, they serve a delicious fish miso soup rather than the usual seaweed soup, which I personally prefer. Highly recommend!
View on GoogleThe main reason we came here and would happily return is the kindness of the owner and staff. They are incredibly friendly and welcoming to customers from all over the world. We truly felt at home when they even tried to greet us in our own language. Another great reason to visit is the food. Everything is fresh, and pricing is very transparent. The owner clearly explained the market price of the uni and patiently guided us through the ordering process. While waiting outside for our turn, they even provided blankets to keep us warm, which was such a thoughtful gesture. We will definitely come back because of their genuine kindness and hospitality. With overtourism, some places can feel intimidating or unfriendly, but this was not the case here at all. Everyone was warm, sincere, and truly welcoming. We really appreciated the experience.
View on GoogleWent here on our last day in Sapporo. Finally I get to eat sushi. My husband is allergic to seafood and my two young kids doesn't eat so I was having a hard time finding a place to eat. The ladies in this restaurant are very accommodating. It was a very small store with two outdoor seating. There was no line and they gladly accommodated me and my kids even though I told them that I will be the only one ordering. They are really nice. Food is great too. Especially the soup! It is very yummy! Finally I get to have my sushi on our trip and I had a very good experience eating at this restaurant.
View on GoogleThis meal is a fantastic example of Japanese kaisendon (seafood rice bowl), offering both visual appeal and fresh flavors that are highly inviting. Both bowls have generous portions of vibrant seafood arranged over a bed of rice. The first bowl highlights fresh slices of tuna, whitefish, and crab legs, accentuated with a dollop of wasabi and bright shiso leaves. The second bowl features luscious slices of salmon, plump scallops, a vibrant mound of ikura (salmon roe), sweet egg (tamago), and a touch of wasabi for an extra punch. The fish appears glistening and expertly cut, signaling premium freshness. The crab is presented in thick, juicy pieces with the natural sweetness standing out.Ikura bursts with a savory, briny pop, perfectly complemented by the creamy salmon and delicate scallops.Wasabi and shiso leaves add aromatic notes and balance out the flavors. Dining here seems both authentic and comfortable, with traditional Japanese touches evident in the background. Communication in English poses no concerns, making it accessible for travelers. Every element is meticulously prepared and beautifully plated. This meal not only delivers on freshness and variety but also offers an accessible, top-tier Japanese seafood experience with no language barrier. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sapporo and seeking outstanding donburi.
View on GoogleNo BS seafood bowl, just pure freshness. We ordered the 2 on the top right. I usually get allergies if seafood is not fresh, but got none from this bowl
