The Mt. Moiwa Summit Observation Deck is located on the roof of the summit station of the "Sapporo Moiwayama Ropeway." Standing atop the 531 m Mt. Moiwa, it is a scenic spot where you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama of Sapporo city. Inside the summit station is [THE JEWELS], said to be the restaurant with the most beautiful night view in Sapporo, which also includes a dining area and a lounge. ---------------------------------- In August 2025, the official website added more supported languages!! Mt. Moiwa Ropeway & Observation Deck offer one of the best viewpoints in Sapporo. Simply exchange your QR code for a physical ticket, then join the queue for the ropeway and connecting cable car to the summit. The ropeway cabins are spacious and can accommodate many passengers. I highly recommend arriving before sunset and staying into the evening — you'll get to enjoy both daytime and nighttime views, each with its own unique charm. The panoramic scenery from the observation deck is absolutely stunning, overlooking Sapporo city, the surrounding mountains, and the distant coastline. A must-visit attraction when in Sapporo

Mount Moiwa has the best view of entire Sapporo! You can see the mountains, the sea and the urban area. I have seen it both daytime and nighttime, and I suggest going during night.. Highly Recommended! PS: Aside from the Ropeway, you can also hike. Just be aware of bears!

Walked up the hachimanzaka slope, followed the signs to the ropeway. Bought the tickets at the front and walked into a short line which led up some stairs. Got 20+ people into a huge gondola and made our way up to the observation deck. The line was shorter as we went before the sunrise/sunset. Definitely recommend for all tourists to come here to get a cool ocean view photo from high above.

Amazing night view! Visited around 7 PM in early December and the entire city looked stunning from the summit. The ropeway and mini cable car rides were smooth, and the 360° panorama was absolutely worth it. It was very cold at the top, so gloves and a warm jacket are highly recommended. Round trip (Ropeway + Mini Cable Car): Adults: ¥2,100, Children: ¥1,050 One-way ticket: Adults: ¥1,050, Children: ¥520 • Two rides to the top: Ropeway → Morris mini cable car. • Free shuttle bus available: from Streetcar “Ropeway Iriguchi ” stop (across the street, then walk ~20–30m to the right). • Shuttle schedule: • Weekdays: from 17:15, every 15 min • Weekends/Holidays: from 10:00, every 15 min • Destination: Sanroku Station (Ropeway Base Station) • Walking alternative: If the shuttle isn’t running, you can walk 8–10 min from Densha-Jigyōsho-mae stop
