Update July 18, 2026: My recommendation is that until Mikuni changes its menu and has something better, I suggest you take your 12,000 yen and feast on a wonderful lunch at Erimotei which is just a few minutes walk north of Sapporo Station. I recommend Erimotei’s Diamond course lunch. Reservation is necessary though. Another good option is L’Auberge de l’ill Sapporo which is next to Maruyama Park. Their French cuisine is en point and served in one of the loveliest settings. Their weekday lunch can be had for as little as 7,000 yen. * * * * * Lunch June 5, 2026: Food is more Japanese (raw) than French (cooked in butter/sauce), and at their asking price point, all “fresh” vegetable ingredients in their salad could have been assembled on the spot instead of being premade and then stored in the refrigerator until it is ordered (like the Onctueuse of Asparagus and salmon, for example). The tomatoes in this dish have refrigerator burn. Have you ever seen a very nice chair but when you go to sit in it, it is so uncomfortable and does not fit to be called furniture? That is this dish (Onctueuse of Asparagus and salmon). The picture is grandiose but the taste is memorable for the wrong reasons. And the salmon? Farmed. I thought it was Norway, but I was told it was farmed in Hokkaido. Sigh. Why bother with this dish? I would replace it with something else. The chef who has all the awards plastered on the wall is probably retired and has not visited his restaurant often enough or not at all to know that this is the state of things. It happens to Robuchon too. Lunch (Full Course) Amuse bouche - soup served in a cup, excellent; this is a keeper Onctueuse of Asparagus and salmon - cold dish - farmed salmon and refrigerator burned tomatoes, why even bother? The only decent thing was that the asparagus was cooked perfectly crunchy. Lobster and scallop rouelle - this would have been cooked in butter and sauce in a classic French dish but why bother with the trouble since this is in Japan? Yes, it is small, raw lobster sitting on top of raw scallop slices, which sits on top of shredded purple cabbage pickles. The scallops could have been fresher. This is my fault as I did not take the time to translate French for “rouelle”. If you go downstairs to the supermarket at the basement floor of Daimaru, you could get fresher scallops. Fish of the day - it’s rockfish (fried?) according to the waiter, acceptable Roasted Hokkaido beef sirloin - I thought I heard the waiter said it was tenderloin? Anyhow it was pretty good, but the au jus was too sparing. Please put one tablespoon more of au jus. Selection of assorted cheeses - 2 pieces of cheese and a bit of fig with a small slice of hard bread - it was so so Green tea Opéra - banal, how about a mille-feuille made with Hokkaido chocolate or a Crème Brulée made with Hokkaido cream? Coffee and mignardises - had tea 12,000 yen June, 2026 Mikuni Sapporo Restaurant is on the 9th floor of Stellar Place at Sapporo Station. The tables have a view of the area surrounding Sapporo Station.

It was a great dining experience. I loved the ambiance of the place. We were seated near the window, so we could see the busy streets of Sapporo. The staff were very accommodating and always smiling while serving us, and of course, the food was delicious.

We enjoyed most of the course meal dishes prepared using local produce, and we noticed great efforts taken in food plating & presentation. However, we couldn't appreciate the grilled eniwa pork's gamey taste and the overly warm heated dining area.

Friendly staffs, and nice view. Two good points I could see. But the quality of the food were absolutely below the expectations. I spent almost ten thousands yen and firstly found some dust in the glass, then I tasted the unbalanced in flavour of each dish, found the shell of lobster left inside the souffle, found that the meat cooked unqually, and until I finished the meal, Ive not found anything that I like enough to make me want to come back. Even the dessert were kind of disappointing. I was hoping for so much more and I now feel like I shouldn't have had select to go there

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to go here and I quite enjoyed all of the food! It seems the menu changes often but rest assured you will enjoy it and the service is top notch. A must try if you can ! They even accommodated my allergies as well which I really appreciate. Please take a look.
