A Genghis Kahn place off the beaten path. We got a local recommendation and it did not disappoint! If you are a picky eater or have dietary restrictions I wouldn't recommend as they started serving us portions of lamb as soon as we sat down and it didn't seem to be a place you could really "order" anything - it's just lamb barbeque! Amazing authentic experience and extremely delicious lamb (even though us Americans overcooked it despite the owners trying desperately to explain the proper way to enjoy). Despite the language barrier the owners were a hoot and made us feel very welcome! We paid about 4600 per person.

Scam and pricey, got charged table fee without prior notice and the owner tried to make us order more than we wanted just because we couldn’t communicate in Japanese 🙁

Before going in, I'd heard the owner was particular about things, but it wasn't that bad. I was hungry, so I could eat even when 2 servings per person came out as soon as we sat down, but as a second stop it'd be tough... The fresh lamb had no gaminess and was very delicious; rice is a must! That said, it ended up costing more than I expected. There's a rule that you bundle your jackets together in a plastic bag lol The restroom is outside the shop.

🍖🌾 Menyoutei Rokujo Branch ― A heartwarming local yakiniku diner fragrant with the savoriness of lamb🔥🍚 🏠 “Menyoutei Rokujo Branch” stands alone along a suburban road🐏✨ A place that welcomes you with the aroma of charcoal, inside a restaurant with a somehow nostalgic Showa-era feel. Unpretentious, it has the vibe of a “neighborhood gem woven into daily life,” long loved by locals💫 🥩 The signature dish is, of course, Genghis Khan🔥🐑 With a sizzle, the fat drips onto the charcoal and fragrant smoke rises😋💨 The lamb's distinctive aroma isn't too strong, and it's tender and juicy! The more you chew, the more juice and flavor overflow, and you can't stop eating white rice🍚✨ The special sauce coats it perfectly—truly “rice thief” level🍶🔥 🍲 Plenty of side dishes too! The soup is good as well🍜🌿 Surprisingly well regarded are the “miso soup” and “soups.” Homestyle flavors, gentle enough to give you a breather between bites of grilled meat🥢💖 The napa cabbage kimchi is a lightly pickled type, a versatile supporting star that goes with both rice and meat🌶️ 👨‍🍳 The staff are homey and warm too🤝✨ They greet you with a smile, and orders move along smoothly at a good pace. The light chatter with regulars is pleasant, an atmosphere wrapped in local love🌸 The comforting feeling of having “come home” is also part of this place's charm🍵💫 🍺 Perfect for a quick drink at night too🍻🌙 Drop by after work for a small moment of happiness with beer and Genghis Khan🍺🐑 The moment the cold foam soaks in with the nicely fatty lamb is pure bliss✨ 🌸 Summary🌸 Not flashy, but a quietly delicious, “warm-hearted Genghis Khan diner”🔥🍚 The fragrant smell of charcoal, the savoriness of the meat, the warmth of the shop――all of it stays in your heart. Less a tourist spot and more a warm “locals' secret hideout”🐏💫 🌟 Overall rating: ★3.8 / 5.0 🌟 Unpretentious deliciousness and the magic of charcoal.―― Today too, beyond the smoke, smiles and rice keep going🍖🔥🍺✨

Went on a Saturday in January 2026. The lamb is fresh and very delicious. The horumon is pork, so we were told to grill it well. The interior is full of Showa-era vibes and has a lot of character.
