Rich, decadent, and a depth of flavour that we haven't found in another other bowl of miso ramen. There is more than just simple savouriness or umami that comes from the broth, there's something beyond that creates a certain "je ne sais qoui" that makes the broth a bit more special. Despite the richness, when eating the bowl your mouth is not coated with any oils or fats and there isn't any greasy feeling after finishing. Also recommended by the store is the spicy shoyu broth which was a unique offering and also delicious. For our preferences, we'd like the noodles to have a bit more of a bounce or chew to the texture. The cha siu is good but perhaps a bit of char or another touch would make it more memorable. It's understandable why this ramen shop commands a line of 40+ people even 30 minutes before opening. Despite the long lines, the operation is incredibly efficient and it moves quickly.
View on GoogleOMG. Menya Saimi is my new favorite ramen restaurant. It is now number one on my list. I ordered their miso ramen. Wow, wow, wow. Their broth is so rich and delicious. There is one piece of meat but it was enough. (You can add more meat normally but today there’s a sign that says the meat is sold out.) The ramen noodles were cooked perfectly and the half size bowl was the perfect portion for me. Before, Mutekiya in Tokyo (Ikebukuro Station) used to be my number one ramen place but their broth is a bit salty sometimes and that is why Saimi now is number 1 on my list. We arrived at Saimi at 11:13am on a Wednesday morning, and there were more than 60 people in line already, many of whom were Japanese. Mind you, the restaurant opens at 11:00am. The wait was one hour for us. I heard that the restaurant was recently featured on television and that is why it is so popular. Anyway, if you are in Sapporo, come here and taste the very best bowl of ramen that Japan has to offer. From Sapporo Station, take the Toho line to Misono Station, exit 1.
View on GoogleI'm not sure I can quite say it's the best miso ramen I've had as I think I've had a couple better ones in Tokyo but it was really tasty and satisfying.
View on GoogleI seldom try miso soup Ramen, but this time i like it so much!!!!! regular size is enough for a girl, the ramen cannot be finished by me. there are three slices of meat in regular size. Silly me add two extra meat, surely i cannot finish again. There are around 20 seat inside, we arrive at 11:10, just wait for 10 mins. Maybe cold weather? I like this shop so much anyway.
View on GoogleMichelin Bid Gourmand Sapporo Ramen Shop It is 15 minutes drive the Stellar Place Sapporo so the distance is manageable. The Ramen is good but I guess I have put my expectation with the Bid Gourmand Label so the expectation bar is higher. For me, the ramen is good but I am not sure why it recieved the Bid Gourmand award.
