"Men-no Yamashita" became independent on February 5, Reiwa 3, in Shiroishi Ward, a fiercely competitive ramen district, after formally receiving the noren (permission to open a branch) following about 15 years of training at Sapporo's famous "Shingen". Making use of the techniques learned in training, they developed a soup based on pork bones and chicken bones with their own original methods, evolving the traditional flavor into their own. The tender chashu, for which the degree of heating is quite important, is especially exquisite. It is easily accessible from Nangodori and Tohokudori; if you want to enjoy ramen in Sapporo, please come to "Men-no Yamashita". It is a 10-minute walk from Nangodori 18-chome Station [Exit 3]; turn right at the traffic light after Co-op Sapporo Lucie, on the 1st floor of the building on your right…

Very good miso ramen. I got regular but they have a daily special seafood miso base. Also got the fried rice to finish off the soup. Would eat again.

The other day I had miso ramen at "Men-no Yamashita" 🍜 The soup looked rich just from its appearance, but when I actually ate it, it had solid body without being heavy, a bowl I could enjoy to the end without getting tired of it. The umami of Hokkaido-style miso came through clearly, and it went outstandingly well with the noodles. The chashu was thick but very tender, with a texture that falls apart in your mouth. The soft-boiled egg was also done perfectly, and eating it with the soup made it even more delicious. The fried rice I ordered as a set was also fragrant and perfect as a companion to the ramen. The interior has a calm atmosphere and is comfortable, an easy shop to enter whether with family or alone. For those who like rich miso ramen, I'd really like you to visit once. It was a shop I wanted to come back to when I'm nearby again! 😊🍜✨

The owner, who honed their skills for 15 years at the renowned "Ramen Shingen", received the noren and opened this shop. 2026/5/29 10:56 There was 1 person waiting outside. It's probably still a hidden spot. It's only a matter of time before it gets crowded... Then it opened at 11 I ordered the miso ¥1,050 There's no ticket machine, you pay afterward. It arrived without much of a wait. The noodles are apparently from a noodle maker called Kobayashi Seimen I've seen this noodle maker somewhere else too. First, one bite I think the noodles aren't very springy. Personally I like them firmer, but I think this boiling level is well balanced too. The soup is rich, but it's not an extremely thick and heavy soup like Sumire or Junren; it's a gentle yet rich miso ramen It doesn't have the heavy oil film of the Jun-Sumi style, if anything there's none? It was a miso ramen like one made with blended miso (awase miso). If you served this in Kanto it would instantly be a famous shop, you know~ lol It's been a while since I had a blended-miso-style miso ramen and it was just plain good. Personally the Jun-Sumi style still wins out, but the Shingen style was of course delicious too.

Shingen's Minami 7-jo branch has been closed for quite a while now, so, looking for that flavor, I paid my first visit to Yamashita-san, a branch store of Shingen. I ordered the miso @1050 yen and fried rice @500 yen. Payment is afterward. The miso ramen is, as expected, delicious. The soup is a bit thicker than Shingen's, with a creamy umami. It goes well with white miso. Like Shingen, the style is to pour the soup over stir-fried bean sprouts and dissolve the miso, which raises expectations. The noodles are medium-thick curly noodles from Kobayashi Seimenjo. The thick-sliced chashu melts in your mouth and is outstandingly good. I'd like to upgrade the topping to extra. A satisfying bowl. The fried rice was quite ordinary. Shingen is far better. This one wasn't a must. Inside there are 7 counter seats. Plus 2 raised tatami tables for 4 people. The location is along Tohoku-dori. Near the Sakaemachi-dori 18-chome bus stop. The parking lot is narrow front and back and has a step. And since it's by an intersection, it's tricky.

One of my favorite ramen shops, top level even in Sapporo!!! The slightly sweet miso flavor is incredibly delicious! Even at lunchtime on a Saturday I got in without queuing. Recommended!
