Great Japanese Italian fusion food. Really wanna go there again:)
View on GoogleAn Italian restaurant where you can enjoy pasta, meat dishes, and fish dishes. It seems popular, so making a reservation may make things smoother. Food seemed to take a while to arrive when it was busy. I ordered the light eggplant and tomato Bolognese and Carne's pâté de campagne (pork pâté). The eggplant flavor and tomato went very well together in the pasta, and the noodles had a nice bite. The pork pâté was also carefully prepared and felt luxurious. There is parking for 4 cars beside the restaurant, but there are also paid parking lots nearby, and you can walk there from Maruyama Koen Station.
View on GoogleLunch on my last day in Sapporo was at “Maruyama Carne.” As its name suggests, this popular restaurant is in Maruyama. Luckily, there were just 2 counter seats available. We ordered the most popular dish, Bolognese with cheese, and the second most popular, shrimp in tomato sauce. First came a heaping salad. The dressing's acidity was mellow and delicious. Then the Bolognese. It had loads of cheese, sweetness, vegetable umami, and a little kick. Just my kind of thing! The shrimp in tomato sauce also had plenty of shrimp, with the acidity of tomato and the richness of cream. Yum yum. I'm a shrimp lover, but this time the Bolognese won. The restaurant staff were kind too. Oh yes, the adult grape juice was also rich, with a pleasantly astringent taste.
View on GoogleI used to come here quite often, but after it gained a good reputation and became popular, getting in without a reservation became difficult, so I stopped coming as much. The other day, I visited fairly late for the first time in a while and was told a counter seat was available, so I ate here again after about 2 years. Perhaps because of rising ingredient costs, prices were a little higher than before, but it was still an Italian restaurant offering outstanding value. Since it was fairly late, I skipped the signature grilled tasting selection this time, but the portions were still more than enough. (The bottled wine was delicious too.) I was also completely satisfied with the same attentive, heartfelt service. It had been a while since my last visit, but it made me want to come regularly again.
View on GoogleThis is my top recommended Italian restaurant for people with children. Believe it or not, there's a children's play area inside. Of course, there's a kids' menu too: 500円 gets you pasta, a drink, and dessert. Many customers bring children, so it's easy to visit with kids, and they can play while you enjoy a relaxed meal. It's fantastic. The standard pasta serving is large, apparently 180 grams. Even the small serving is 120g, so light eaters should choose the small one. The lunch plate with a small serving costs 1300円, so it's good value too. The dolce was delicious as well, so I'd probably recommend the dolce set to dessert lovers. For those who like alcohol, I recommend the overflowing sparkling wine. It's unusual for them to pour it until it overflows, like sake. Anyway, it's delicious and welcoming to children, making it a great Italian restaurant for families. There was no raised seating area, but there were children's chairs. They've halved the number of seats as a coronavirus precaution. You can maintain plenty of social distance.
