2026.05.07 ・A cafeteria on the 3rd floor of the Kiyota Ward General Government Building. Besides staff working in the building, ward residents also seem to use it. ・As a cafeteria in a public facility, it offers meals at relatively low prices. There was a daily menu too, but I ordered the mini "Zantare teishoku" for 650円 since it's their specialty. There are 3 set-meal sizes based on the number of zangi pieces: mini (4 pieces), normal (5 pieces), and mega (8 pieces). Considering my age, I chose the smaller mini set. ・The cafeteria walls describe the care that goes into the Zantare teishoku, which I read while waiting for my number to be called. ・The zangi sauce is for dipping rather than poured over it. I varied the flavor by dipping the zangi in vinegar and doubanjiang. You can tell it's carefully fried, reflecting their focus on zangi. Overall, it's a cafeteria-style set meal, but this cafeteria is perfect for feeling full and getting a slight sense of value. The view from the 3rd floor was nice too.

Kiyota Ward Office cafeteria. I visited for the first time while taking care of paperwork at the ward office. That day I ordered kakiage soba for ¥520. It arrived in a little over 5 minutes. It feels like THE government-office soba. Naturally, the kakiage is premade. Next time, kake soba for ¥400 might be better. Lunch in a cafeteria overlooking central Kiyota might be nice now and then. Thank you for the meal.

2025年9月 Come to think of it, Umeshiro has lived around here since before Kiyota Ward was established and has been a Kiyota resident for years, but I've never used the Kiyota Ward Office cafeteria~ Thinking that, today's lunch would be government-office food for the first time in a while! I drove over and parked in the free ward-office parking lot When I arrived, the office's exterior walls were under construction Now that's the real Yakusho Koji! Government-office construction! Up to the third floor in the elevator, turn right, and there it was… ____Kiyota Ward Office Cafeteria____ The standard government-cafeteria glass display case, but instead of food replicas, it displayed slightly out-of-focus food photos with coarse pixels from being enlarged Yes, yes, this is just right♪ Then I tried to put a thousand-yen note into the ticket machine beside it, whirr whirr whirr……bleh🤑 Like that, the machine rejected my money over and over (sweat) Looking closely, the machine didn't accept the new banknotes! Oh no~ In this situation, you have to go inside, ask a staff member to exchange your money?, then face the ticket machine again… (tears) 【Mega Zantare teishoku】 Pressed that, went back inside, and handed over the ticket…GLAD_THERE_WASN'T_A_LINE(・o・;) Wait a little… Mega Zantare customer number so-and-so~ Off to collect the food! I see…8 fairly large pieces of zangi…definitely mega. Umeshiro, getting on in years with a small appetite, will need a little time to finish this… Zangi means zangyo, overtime, huh (sweat) Let's eat~🙏 The zantare sauce comes in a separate little dish, so first without dipping, by plane…no, plain… Crunch The underlying seasoning is mild Dip, dip in the sauce A Menmi-flavored sauce, lighter than the sweet-and-sour zantare sauce around Kushiro, with almost no vinegar flavor For customization, use jang for heat, or Tabasco if you want it sour and spicy, apparently? Tabasco on zangi is unusual~ But the amounts of white rice and shredded cabbage are too small for all this meat, out of proportion! Meat, meat, white rice, meat, meat, meat, meat, white rice, shredded cabbage, miso soup, meat, meat,………… Should've ordered a large rice Thank you for the meal~🙏 Stuffed! So stuffed even the back of my head feels heavy! Nap time lololol

Standard set meals are offered at affordable prices. Uses a ticket machine. Place your meal ticket on a tray and hand it to either the "noodles" or "set meals・rice dishes" counter, and they tear it in half and return one half. When it's ready, they call out something like "Katsudon number 22". Open until 14時. Ward-office staff start their lunch break at 12時15分, so it suddenly gets crowded. I left so as not to get in the way. As cafeteria food, the taste is about what you'd expect, but the portions are generous. In this health-conscious era, you can specify your own rice portion. If I could ask for more, the miso soup has suffered too much from cost-cutting. It's slightly pleasing that the water glasses are glass rather than plastic cups.

A cafeteria on the 3rd floor of Sapporo's Kiyota Ward Office. I had the Zantare teishoku since it seems popular. The sauce is simple, like mentsuyu. Apparently you're meant to mix in various condiments to finish the sauce before eating. Perhaps to accommodate a wide range of ages, the rice was on the soft side. A large rice portion is free. Condiments such as mayonnaise and dressings are provided.
