IOMARE
A street-level shop at Tanukikoji 1-chome, Sapporo Odori. A tiny, tiny place with 17 seats. A casual Italian restaurant that's particular about Hokkaido ingredients and drinks. What is "Iomare"... It comes from the Ainu word "iomare," meaning to pour drinks, to share drinks together. True to the name, we chose it in the hope that everyone will enjoy delicious food and conversation while happily drinking together! We have no cover charge. The 6-seat counter is fine for casual use, like stopping in for just one drink! There are 11 table seats in total. Private bookings are also available. We're also open for lunch! We ate here as a group of 4 italians and we were truly pleased by the service, but most of all by the quality of the dishes. Amazing atmosphere and refined food with great wine pairing. Absolute must try!
View on GoogleA hidden-gem Italian place in Tanukikoji 1-chome, Sapporo. I got to enjoy wine and food at a relaxed pace. Went with work colleagues to "Iomare," an Italian restaurant in Tanukikoji 1-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo. First, a toast with Italian white wine. Refreshing and easy to drink, and it paired well with the food. The meal started with edamame, followed by a cheese platter, bonito carpaccio, and a colorful salad. The carpaccio was fresh, with the balsamic sauce as an accent, and delicious. The main, sautéed white fish, had fragrant skin and plump flesh. The sauce infused with the umami of asari clams went beautifully with the colorful vegetables, and I enjoyed it to the last bite. Every dish is carefully made, and it's a place where you can take your time enjoying your meal over wine. The interior is calm and comfortable — a spot I'd recommend not only for meals with colleagues but also for dates and anniversaries. It's a hideaway-type place a little way in from Tanukikoji. Next time I'm in Sapporo, I'd definitely like to visit again.
View on Google2026.07 Went with 3 friends to Iomare, which I'd been curious about for a long time. Since the chef cooks alone, the food takes a little while to come out, but each dish is made with great care, and everything was delicious. The atmosphere inside is nice too, and I think it's perfect for a date. It also seems like a good place to enjoy a leisurely meal on your own. Rather than authentic Italian cuisine, I felt it's a cozy place to enjoy tasty Italian food casually. This was my own fault for not checking properly, but when I tried to book the all-you-can-drink plan with an appetizer platter (2 days before the visit), I couldn't select the date on the reservation screen. Since I didn't see any notice for this plan like "reservation required by the day before," I figured it'd be fine to ask on the day, so I reserved just the seats. However, it actually required a reservation by the day before, and I was told that even if you can't book online, they can accommodate you if you call. So we changed our original plan and ordered à la carte. It was a bit disappointing, but I think I'm partly to blame for not checking properly. Even so, both the food and the atmosphere were very satisfying, and it's a place I'd like to visit again if I get the chance.
