Visited on 2025·R7.9.20. In the “mountain village group” area, which extends west of the urban group and before the rural group at the open-air museum “北海道開拓の村,” opened in April 1983·S58, 3 buildings are scattered at key points along a network of walking paths. For reference, the “mountain village group” contains the following buildings (the numbers are the consecutive numbers on the area map). 50.森林鉄道機関庫, 51.旧平造材部飯場, 52.炭焼小屋. It's a large area, so I think it's best to keep checking the area map to avoid getting lost. The walking paths may feel long, but since you've come all this way, be sure to see the “炭焼小屋” at the farthest point. Also, the yellow vehicle in the “森林鉄道機関庫” is a must-see.
