Simple spot for regional specialty lamb & mutton dipped in sauce before being cooked over a grill.
Note: [This shop does not partner with Auto Reserve. Reservations are accepted via Tabelog and Hot Pepper.] At Higenoushi Honten in central Sapporo, carefully selected high-quality lamb is cut with care by skilled craftsmen and served. With seasoning that brings out the character of the meat and grilling methods pursued for each cut, we offer two ways to grill over a charcoal-filled shichirin: a Jingisukan pan and a wire-mesh grill. Starting with the lamb shoulder loin we have stayed devoted to since our founding, we prepare a wide range of breeds and cuts, including mutton, Icelandic lamb, and Suffolk-cross lamb. Vegetables and rice are mainly from Hokkaido. The three-story interior offers various settings, with counter seats, table seats, semi-private rooms…

Great place for Jingisukan (Japanese grilled mutton cuisine)! Casual. Easy to order via phone. Fresh meat with good condiments and many choices of drinks!
View on GoogleReally nice mutton barbecue. The restaurant is very spacious and you won’t be have that much smell on your clothes after eating which is really commendable. We tried the lamb slices, steaks and ribs, all of which are very delicious. The steak is so juicy tender; ribs smells so good and lamb slices are good too. I highly recommend this store to lamb/meat lovers.
View on GoogleSapporo seems to be an unprecedented Genghis Khan boom. It is said that it is especially popular among travelers from Korea. This store is also thriving. Two grills are arranged, one for grilling and one for Genghis Khan. The grill is grilled diced sheep, and the grill for Genghis Khan is grilled vegetables and thinly sliced sheep. It is characterized by being able to taste sheep with various sheep meat parts and cuts. The Genghis Khan boom is likely to continue for a while, so it's better to make a reservation early when traveling.
View on GoogleVisited with my family because it's one of the recommended things to eat in Hokkaido. 2nd time having 'Genghis Khan' in Japan. The meat was quite good, an amazing variety but my family actually enjoyed the cheapest marinated cuts the most because the meat is pretty gamey (but expected for lamb & mutton, I guess). Portions are not huge. The hormone...is an acquired taste, be warned. Quite interesting because there are two types of grills to cook different types of meat Didnt know the drinks are free flow (English not spoken much here, but they try their best). Ordering is by QR menu, so easy for gaijins I guess. Ran up a pretty high bill of 3200jpy but family was still hungry after that....had to adjourn to eat gyoza after that😔
View on Google2019.03.10. me an my wife visited. I don't remember exact price but basic lamb meat is in reasonable price. we ordered lamb rib too, but basic lamd tated better. it's good value place, not good quality place. especially drinks are very unreasonable in price. if you want meats without drinking, recommend this place.
