I came across this cafe whilst i was new to the area roaming around, and I am so glad i did. It has its own charm from the outside and it continues from the inside. I visited early in the morning (not speaking any Japanese) the gentleman kindly welcomed me and read my google translate, i ordered a hot black coffee and shortbread. The coffee is by far the best one i have had in Sapporo. The shortbread melted in my mouth. The sensation of the cafe is just magical , it offers calmness and warmth to the heart. I will definitely be back and i highly recommend it if you ever wanted a calm space

View on GoogleAs a former jazz pianist I enjoyed fully listening Kenny Burrel's awesome music at Hato's coffee shop. The music came from two Tannoy brand speakers; best companion for a great, high quality coffee. The coffee has rich high quality taste; also different gourmet cakes, what makes Hato's Coffee Shop much more than a " simple " coffee shop, but much more a delectably place of relaxation and recharge for the next squirrel wheel what is everyone's job work.

View on GoogleAfter having lunch nearby, I searched for the closest café and Hato Coffee looked like it had a nice atmosphere, so I made my first visit around 1:30 pm on a weekday. There was one group of customers before us. Inside there's one table for 2, two tables for 3, and about 5 counter seats by the window. It's very bright, with lovely decor surrounded by dried flowers and books, and the music playing was pleasant — a great atmosphere. After 2 o'clock customers kept coming in one after another, so it's a popular café. I ordered an iced café au lait, and my companion ordered the cold fruit tea. It's a one-person operation, and they took enough time that you could tell things weren't premade but carefully prepared after ordering. Served in about 20 minutes. They look simple, but both were so delicious it was a shame to finish them. The café au lait is half and half with milk, but the coffee itself must be good. Next time I'd definitely like to try it black. It was hot that day, and I was able to escape the heat in the lovely air-conditioned interior and take my time. I'll stop by again when I'm in the area. Thanks for the treat.
