We came across Hama-no-Yasashisa while waiting for our laundry nearby, and it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The meal started with a complimentary conch appetiser, which was delicious and a nice introduction to the meal. We ordered the fried oysters, tofu hot pot, sashimi, grilled beef tongue with bean sprouts, and chicken thigh. The chicken thigh was actually our favourite dish of the evening. It was juicy, flavourful, and cooked perfectly. We found ourselves reaching for it again and again throughout the meal. The fried oysters were excellent, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The tofu hot pot was comforting and flavourful, perfect after a long day of sightseeing. The sashimi was fresh, beautifully presented, and enjoyable. The only dish that did not quite work for us was the beef tongue, which was a little tougher than expected. However, the bean sprouts and seasoning were good, and overall the meal was still very satisfying. What stood out even more was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Sometimes the best meals are not the ones you plan for, but the places you happen to discover along the way. We're certainly glad we came across this restaurant and would happily return if we find ourselves in Sapporo again.

We were surprised at how many customers there were on a Monday night. The mushroom and seaweed salad is spectacular! We also enjoyed our zengi/fried chicken and tuna bowl. This izakaya sports a good Japanese sake selection - all ¥750. Friendly service and reasonably priced! Highly recommended.

View on GoogleThis time was a whirlwind business trip to Sapporo & Asahikawa. I arrived in Sapporo on an evening flight and checked into my hotel. By the time I put my bags down in the room it was almost 21:00... I had to go find a restaurant that would take me! So I dashed out of the hotel and wandered the neighborhood, and on a corner facing the main street I spotted an aura of deliciousness. I slipped into "Hama no Yasashisa" ♫ The bright, kind staff made a great impression. I was shown to the counter and studied the menu carefully. Here's what I ordered. ⭐︎Chige Motsu Nabe (spicy offal hot pot) ⭐︎Maitake Tempura ⭐︎Thick-cut Ham Katsu ⭐︎Tan-saki Fried Rice (beef tongue tip) The otoshi (starter) was something like oden. The beautifully clear broth had a deep flavor. The saltiness was just right, and the two kinds of konnyaku seemed rare. The chige motsu nabe was packed with ingredients: offal, daikon, carrot, burdock, tofu, green onion, konnyaku and more. Mildly spicy. The sweetness could become addictive ♫ The tan-saki fried rice was a simple dish that doesn't rely on seasonings. The texture was fun, and it was light enough that I felt I could eat it endlessly. The maitake tempura is the type you eat with salt. King oyster mushrooms wrapped in a crispy, fluffy batter. Chewy, crispy and fluffy, and delicious ♡ The main event was the ham katsu. The thick ham and the batter were crisply fused together. The lightly salted ham was ◎! The crispness of the batter was also just right. It was the most elegant, perfect-100-point ham katsu I've ever had ♫ The bill was about 4,000 yen. A really great deal. Thank you for the meal~! #Hokkaido #SapporoMeshi #HamKatsu
