ギャラリーカフェ茶廊法邑Gyarariikafe Saro Ho Mura
In a residential area of Higashi-ku, Sapporo, covered in greenery in summer and shut in by snow in winter, stands the red building of Gallery & Cafe Sarō Houmura. The path to the entrance, surrounded by concrete walls, is like a maze. Inside, time flows leisurely; sunlight streams through the glass windows and shadows sway on the stone floor. You can enjoy the atmosphere of Gallery Sarō Houmura, which changes in many ways depending on the exhibition. Gallery exhibitions change about every week. At the attached cafe, during lunchtime 11:00–14:00, they serve a hot sandwich set and pizza toast set (with salad and drink); during cafe time 10:00–17:30, various drinks, cake sets, and more are offered…

A very cozy place where you can enjoy artwork, delicious coffee, and sweets all at once. The gallery's exhibition space is spacious, so I could take my time viewing the works in an open atmosphere. Also, the walls around the cafe space serve as exhibition space too, so it's appealing that you can view the works while drinking coffee. (However, people viewing the art also come into the cafe space, so people pass by nearby.) The staff were also very friendly and treated everyone pleasantly, whether they were using the gallery or the cafe.
View on GoogleIt's a very stylish space where you can spend a relaxed, calm time surrounded by a gallery that changes each time. Classical music plays, which is soothing. The photographers and creators are often present at the gallery, so you can hear lots about their works, and it's fun with all kinds of learning and discoveries. My recommendation is the "Japanese Tea Set". A generous serving of Japanese tea that you can enjoy up to a second steeping (refill), along with an original dorayaki.
View on GoogleI went for the first time for Maya Max's event. The parking lot looks like it can fit about 6 cars. There were dorayaki and cookies next to the register, and I bought a dorayaki. It was delicious. Coffee orders had stopped, so unfortunately I didn't eat or drink there.
View on GoogleIn the evening, my husband found a lovely cafe, and we ordered the coffee and cake set ☕🍰 There's also a gallery with lots of beautiful paintings. They were also selling works by other artists. The coffee and cake set was delicious too. The building has a nice atmosphere as well, I recommend Sarō Houmura 😄
View on GoogleAt the cafe inside the gallery, you can have light meals and cake. In the past, you could also have a regular lunch. On weekdays, you can spend a quiet time surrounded by artwork!
