Typical small Ramen Shop with an order machine. They explained nicely and were very patient while we used our translator for words we could not read. The ramen was freshly made before our eyes as we sat at the counter. Can only recommend a visit, even if it can only be readily reached by bus.

Evolved Sapporo-style salt ramen making the most of seafood and chicken paitan There are various kinds, but the most popular one, which also serves as the soup base, is the "Seafood Chicken Salt Paitan" The paitan base is particular about using only neck meat from Shinrin-dori chickens from Miyagi Prefecture! Apparently they recommend the "Garyu Sapporo Ramen Hien," which adds charred lard to that soup to finish it Sapporo-style The "Seafood Chicken Salt Paitan" is a chicken paitan salt ramen with strong seafood notes and solid umami! At the same time the saltiness isn't strong; it's gentle, or mild, and easy to eat The noodles are thin and straight, slippery & snappy The chashu comes in two kinds, chicken and pork, which is a treat The onions are crunchy and make a nice accent! A well-balanced ramen worthy of being the most popular The "Garyu Sapporo Ramen Hien" has a soup with a thick layer of oil, a salt soup where you can taste the seafood too, a rich-yet-light type with a charred aroma! The noodles are wavy and a little firm Oh? This is, as the name suggests, like Sapporo-style miso switched to salt? The chashu is seared, with meaty umami while still being tender and falling apart! Personally, I liked this one better! Note that there's no miso ramen, but salt ramen fans will enjoy it! Date of visit: July 30, 2025

Visited **Garyu Menbu Hien** for lunch. I ordered the bonito soy sauce. First, the soup smelled wonderful, a Japanese-leaning soy sauce soup with a strong katsuobushi flavor, a bowl that made me honestly think "this is delicious" from the first sip. The richness of the soy sauce and the umami of the seafood are well balanced, it's not too heavy, and it's the kind of soup you can drink to the end without getting tired of it. It pairs well with the noodles too, which pick up the soup nicely and have a pleasant texture. The toppings also seem carefully made; overall it's highly polished and comes together well as a bowl of ramen. It's a place that competes on "quality" rather than flashiness, and I think the flavor will definitely hit the spot for ramen lovers. Very satisfying even for lunch, and I'm curious about the other menu items, so I want to come back.
