Lunch June 6, 2026: I had a great lunch here. Diamond course, highly recommended. Reservation is necessary. Today was a cold and rainy day. The temperature dropped to 59 degrees Fahrenheit from 83 degrees just a few days before. The tail wind of a typhoon was passing through. I felt that the first course should have been something warm and soothing rather than the cold carrot cake, sweet potato thing and the cold scallop thing, which was followed by cold white corn soup. Other than that, the food here is freshly prepared and has soul. It is delicious. I would come back again for another meal. Another thing needs to be mentioned. It was a little off putting dealing with the waitress though. She was a bit flustered and had brought the wet towel only after the first course is served. When the course containing asparagus came, she said, “this is asparagus. Can you eat?” She should instead see all the grey hairs on my head and give me the benefit of the doubt that I know what an asparagus is and yes, I can eat. If not, I would just leave it on the plate untouched. She should instead say, “this is so and so with asparagus. Please enjoy the meal.” When I asked for some tea and not coffee, in the middle of the course, she insisted on charging an extra 700 yen even though it was supposed to be included in the meal. Instead, she brought a second cup of tea with the dessert course even after I told her that one cup was enough. I have been to The French Laundry and many other places for a meal, and it should be expected that anyone who is willing to try a course meal lunch at 11,800 yen would have some experience in having such tasting course meal. Dear chef, please train your staff accordingly.
View on GoogleIt was nice. It would have been nicer if coffee was served at the end of the course.
View on Google⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was delightful. It's unique in that it doesn't quite feel like Japan; instead, it has a charming French ambiance. Highly recommended! 🍽️🇫🇷🥖

View on GoogleI visited several years ago for work and thought it was lovely, so I came again on my own. It's easy to access, a short walk from the north exit of Sapporo Station. The exterior has a hideaway feel, giving a chic old-house impression. But once you go inside, the interior is very lovely, not at all apparent from the compact-looking exterior. Seats are located on the first floor slightly down some steps, and there are various seats such as hall seats on the second floor (with curtains making them semi-private) and fully private rooms. The antique-style interior is truly lovely. You can see the green of the backyard from the window, which feels luxurious. The food is delicious and the staff's service is good, a very good restaurant. The cold corn potage I had when visiting near autumn was truly sweet and delicious, which surprised me. The shop's style is French + soba, and the soba differs by occasion, sometimes with Western-style seasoning and sometimes Japanese-style with tsuyu and wasabi. The soba gives the impression of handmade soba cut short rather than long noodles. The restrooms are also very clean. I'd recommend it when you're looking for French food near Sapporo Station.
