I visited here 4 times during my last 3 weeks stay in Sapporo. Every time I visited I got different cuisine, and all the meals are sooo descent and yummy!! Especially for lunch, they serve a set menu which is changing everyday, and you can have not only main food but also soup and even a drink with just 900yen. Their main menu is doria which is a Japanese western-style rice casserole dish with a creamy white or tomato sauce and some other ingredients like chicken, shrimp, potato, cheese and so on. It seems to be once introduced in a certain food-related magazine. Even though they cannot speak English, they try to explain about menu as much as possible using a translating app. In addition to that, dishes they serve are not very Japanese - pizza, doria and pasta, so difficulty in choosing menu would be quite limited even if you cannot speak Japanese. They are extremely kind and seem to concentrate on serving healthy food with organic ingredients. All the foods look like home-made meal rather than ones in the restaurant. They offer even good coffee using coffee bean which is popular in this region. I am sure it’s worth visiting here once you visit the art museum nearby, and I will definitely visit again in my remaining 1week stay in Sapporo.

View on GoogleAfter visiting the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art and before heading somewhere else, I happened to learn about this restaurant and went in. I loved its charming, cozy atmosphere, and the varied menu made it easy to enjoy a meal. I ordered cream curry spaghetti and iced tea, and the food was really delicious too. I was traveling alone at the time and feeling a little lonely, but the owner welcomed me warmly and chatted with me about all sorts of things, so I had a truly enjoyable time. Thanks to them, I gained an unforgettable happy memory from my trip. I am grateful to have met such a lovely person. If I come to Sapporo again, this is somewhere I definitely want to revisit. Thank you so much. ☺️🫰🫰
View on GoogleI often come here for lunch on weekdays. The daily lunch varies by day, with doria, pasta, cutlets, and other dishes. I never get tired of it, no matter how often I go. They also have seasonal limited-time doria and other dishes to enjoy. Lunch is served as follows: For doria: doria + soup + drink. For pasta: pasta + bread + soup + drink. For other dishes: main dish + rice + soup + drink. They ask beforehand whether you want your drink before, after, or with the meal. Music (records?) plays at a volume that is not noisy, so you can spend a pleasant time here. The restaurant asks each person to order at least 1 item, so even when bringing children, they need to order at least 1 thing such as ice cream or a drink. I heard the owner originally worked at a certain restaurant in front of Naebo Station (now relocated to Higashi-ku), then went independent and operated in Higashi-ku before moving here. I personally liked and often visited the restaurant where they worked before going independent, so I was surprised when I heard this (^-^; ・Cash only (no credit cards, QR-code payments, etc.) ・Parking space for 1 car in the first-floor carport ・Enter through the doorway beside the carport and go up to the second floor with your shoes on (shoes stay on inside) ・Hand sanitizer is available when you enter ・Seating is on the second and third floors ・The stairs from the second to the third floor are a little steep, perhaps because this is a converted old house ・There are seats for 2 and 4 people ・It seems you can reserve seats? ・Because of the coronavirus pandemic, they ask people who keep talking without masks after eating to “put on a mask~,” so you can feel at ease ・The daily lunch was Monday~Friday, if I remember correctly (closed Thursdays) ・No smoking Reading other people’s reviews, I occasionally see comments saying, “I was asked to leave because my scent was too strong.” Even if you do not notice your own scent, people around you often do. It is not only perfume; there are various smells, such as cigarettes on heavy smokers and fabric softener. My wife also had a fabric-softener smell before we married… After we married, changed softener, had a child… she once pulled out clothes from her single days and said, “What is this!? The fabric softener stinks! It’s so strong!
View on GoogleI had been curious about this restaurant for ages and came because I wanted doria. The reason I had hesitated was its exterior, which makes you wonder at first glance, is this really the restaurant? In fact, Google Maps shows what it is like inside, so there is no need to be so nervous… But it is embarrassing if you do not know the restaurant’s rules, right? With the mindset of an older guy hesitant to enter Starbucks, I had refused to visit. This time I made up my mind and went in, only to immediately find stairs… “Is the main keep on the second floor?” I thought as I climbed the wooden stairs. Upstairs there was a door, and when I pushed it open with a little force and a creeeak, I emerged onto the restaurant floor. I am unsure how to describe the approach and the atmosphere inside. Perhaps “a Taisho-style Italian restaurant” comes close? I do not know whether there were Italian restaurants in the Taisho era, though… As I stood wondering where to sit, a female staff member guided me. I sat down intending to order doria, but she explained the lunch pasta, which made me want it, so I ordered that. ・Crispy French bread brushed with garlic oil ・Soup containing lots of vegetables ・Cream pasta with bacon and mushrooms ・Iced coffee First, the soup—it had cucumber, which I dislike… but it was heated, so there was none of that unpleasant grassy smell. The flavor was also full, and I drank it to the last drop. The sauce clung well to the pasta and went nicely with the bacon and mushrooms. I had thought the portion might be small, but it was quite satisfying. Dipping the bread in the sauce was delicious too. Finished everything. Yes, this is a good place. Next time I will come for doria. It is near the Museum of Modern Art, and taking your date here after the museum would surely raise their opinion of you. I liked it enough to want to write this much. On a later visit, I had the seafood doria. The rice mingled with the silky white sauce, and the seafood and cheese on top were a fantastic combination.
