Hokkaido, Sapporo, Chuo-ku, Minami 1-jo Nishi 9-15-1, アパホテル 札幌大通駅前西 “中国料理 布袋” is located in アパホテル札幌大通駅前西, between Odori and Minami 1-jo Street in Sapporo's Chuo-ku. “中国料理 布袋” Popular for its large zangi. The main branch, with its old-established feel on Minami 1-jo Street, moved across Minami 1-jo Street. There is also a branch in アパホテル. It seems to serve as the hotel's breakfast venue in the morning too. Arrived on Sunday at 12:20. No customers were there yet. Maybe everyone goes to the main branch. A notice at the entrance said, “Dinner temporarily closed.” The kitchen is at the back. In front of it, counter seats line the walls on both sides. Tables for 2 are arranged in the space. The gaps between neighboring tables are rather narrow. I came for the アパ社長のカレー and zangi set after a reviewer posted a menu photo showing it. But it wasn't on the menu. When I checked with a staff member, they said, “The menu has changed, and we don't offer it now.” The staff member immediately checked with the kitchen, and the kitchen staff said, “If you can give us about 10 minutes.” “Yes, please!” I really appreciate this kind of consideration. ◾️アパ社長カレー&ザンギセット1200円 Carefully plated and beautiful to look at. ◯アパ社長カレー I've had it at breakfast buffets when staying at アパ, but this version has an extra touch. Topped with thinly sliced lamb and vegetables fried without batter. The curry sauce is moderately spicy with a fruity-sauce-like acidity. The lamb is tender with a gentle lamb aroma. The vegetables are green pepper, red bell pepper, lotus root, and sweet potato. The rice uses Hokkaido-grown rice. It has a delicious texture. Rice quality needs to be good for set meals and curry. ◯Zangi Freshly fried and piping hot. The meat was gently seasoned and delicious. You can change the flavor by dipping it in a tangy sauce containing green onions. ◯Miso soup ◯Mini salad 【Overall assessment】 布袋 on the 1st floor of アパホテル, not far from 布袋's main branch. The アパ社長カレー and zangi set is currently not on the menu. This time there happened to be no other customers, so they served it to me. Thank you for the meal♪

Immersing myself in 布袋's strongest combo, “マーボー炒飯セット.” After enjoying the Sapporo Snow Festival into the night, I went to “中国料理 布袋 アパホテル札幌大通駅前西店” to warm my thoroughly chilled body. The main branch always has a huge line, but this place feels like a hidden gem while still delivering the full 布袋 quality. It was my first visit to the アパホテル branch, and the striking menu name “アパ社長と布袋ザンギset” made me do a double take. I was incredibly curious, but hunger won this time, so I ordered “最強set マーボー炒飯.” This was literally “the strongest.” Fluffy fried rice with separate grains, topped generously with 布袋's signature mildly spicy, deeply flavorful mapo tofu. The sight of that enormous zangi sitting there was nothing short of a reward for adults who want it all. The crispness of the zangi and the piping-hot mapo. It would not be an exaggeration to say that everything in the world was here, given how satisfying it was. The spices and fat soaked into my chilled body, making it the best dinner. Next time I definitely want to try the アパ社長 set!

A Chinese restaurant inside アパホテル. You can also have the hotel's breakfast here, and it is very delicious and satisfying. The mapo tofu is authentic and delicious. The karaage is recommended too!

This is 布袋 on the 1st floor of the newly built アパホテル behind the former main branch. The photo shows 蒸し餃子定食 with a large serving of rice. I went after 13:00 on a weekday, and it was almost full. The restaurant uses mobile ordering, and you can avoid adding them as a LINE friend by not opening LINE. As a hotel restaurant, it seems to offer breakfast too, but apparently breakfast is only for staying guests.

The zangi is definitely delicious! I've tried other menu items at the former main branch before, and everything was delicious. You can't go wrong with anything you order! But the ア◯ホテル curry・・・ This one alone・・・ I understand there may be various circumstances・・・ Also, the floor staff at 布袋 are all extraordinarily capable. They remember every customer and order. Amazing! Their handling of customers, responses, and speed are all perfect. You can enjoy your meal comfortably. Wonderful! ※I took a look at the new main branch on 2/3, but it wasn't open yet
