We had a lovely visit to Mewkies today! The place was spotless for a cat sanctuary. The owner clearly is very committed to the animals and lays out clear rules to avoid any crazy behavior from people. It is also nice and quiet, which was a great respite from the hustle and bustle outside. I thought 600 yen for 30 min to hang out with the cats was reasonable for a comfortable space. It’s not loud and trendy or with a lot of photo ops-think of it more like a cat library than a cafe and you’ll have a nice time :)

What a wonder place! I was looking for a place with rescued cats where I could just chill for a while and is the perfect spot! The cats are very friendly and if you sit on the floor they will come sleep on your lap. The priority of the space is the wellbeing of the cats and any behaviour that may bother them you will be called out, which was great to see, more places with animals should do the same. Highly recommend!

I didn't stay there too long but longer than planned. The cafe got lots of negative reviews but as long as I observed, the owner was trying hard to keep the cats indoor as the shop is facing a busy main road full of cars and trucks. He was not extremely friendly, but friendly enough. He kept cleaning the room as one cat kept marking. I admire his patience and dedication. All cats appeared being well looked after. In addition, they have a huge range of comics. I was not so fortunate to have a lap cat, but seeing them enjoying lunch was good enough.

This place is amazing. It's super easy for non-Japanese speaking people to come in and hang out with the cats. It was also super cheap! The atmosphere was great, the cats were happy, and there were so many places for the cats to run around and lounge. I will be going back for as long as I'm in Sapporo! As a tourist, add this place to your list of must-gos. Super fun and loved everything about the place.

This cat cafe is wonderful. The cats are very sweet and are very curious. The staff (possibly the owner but I'm not sure) is very attentive to the cats needs and clearly cares for them. Any time he would come out many of the cats would run up to him and ask to be picked up or pet. Any cat lover should come here and hang out.
