In April 2024, we won first place in Japan for the 4th time at the national paella championship! "BAR espana CARNE" is a Spanish bar in Tanukikoji, Sapporo. Our signature paella is exquisite. We also offer a wide variety of Spanish dishes such as Hokkaido black wagyu beef, Ezo deer, Iberico pork, and carefully sourced charcoal-grilled meats! Our courses of popular menu items include a course where you can choose your paella from 3 types and a course with an assortment of steaks, outstanding in both color and volume. The interior is a relaxing space with stylish twinkling lights. The first-floor bar area is great for a quick drink for adults. Private rooms are also available, so it's ideal for girls' nights or anniversaries…

Highly recommend this place. Lovely food, nice ambiance and we got the food very fast. It's not that big inside so better to call in advance if they have available seats. Drinks also good and the safe are friendly and nice. If i get the chance, i will definitely come back. It was a suprise to eat good paella in Sapporo.

Meal: Happy Hour Budget: ¥2,000/person Closest Station: Tanuki Koji Reservation Needed?: No Payment: Cash; Credit Card Kid Friendly?: No English Menu?: Yes A cozy and very cool restaurant with ¥500 happy hour drinks until 5:00 PM and very friendly staff! I just wish the food was better. Our oysters were fine, but our baked mushrooms were tasteless. Disappointing, considering that we really wanted to like this place!

This bar is not friendly to foreigners. It’s a Saturday at 10:30pm and my wife and I were outside looking at their menu. They switched the sign to “close” so we moved on to look at another Restaraunt. When we walked past this restaurant at 10:40 the sign was switched back to “open”. I suggest moving on if you’re a foreigner as your service will probably be non existent. It’s a Saturday and online hours mention closing at 12..

Nice atmosphere with great music. But food disappoints. Paella is too burnt and tapas portion is too small. They mandate that everyone need to order a drink. Not much non alcoholic option. Whisky is super diluted

I'm an ex kitchen lad. All sorts of food from age 16 to 35. Lots of countries - lots of cuisine. Kitchens the size of barns. Despite that size, everybody was constantly bumping into each other. Tonight I saw a kitchen of five cooks do 60 covers in about 4 square metres. That's a bit of a ballet. Get a table where you can watch that. Spanish food in Sapporo. Go figure. Go eat there, even if you've been to Barcelona or Madrid, check it out. The steak is cooked to perfection - Hokkaido beef, mouth melting. Oh yeah, three different paella dishes! The real deal. The cooks have fun. You will too and you WILL NOT forget the dining experience. The Spanish red wine selection is out of your expectation.
